sex after birth

is the 6 week thing a recommendation for health reasons or an average for healing time?

if there have been no complcations , no tears , and bleeding has stopped is it ok to have sex without risking any damage?

i did it after 3 weeks and i had internal stitches and grazes , foreplay hurt more then sex did ! and still does for some reason lol

i had a small 2nd degree perinneal tear with 2 stitches which had dissolved and healed by the 7th day. i tried sex only about 2 weeks after the birth and it fooking hurt loads! goos luck!

I did after 2 1/2 weeks after Paris and had a epis thingy and it didn't hurt.

we did it 3.5 weeks after and i had a 2nd degree tear with stitches (that had healed ) it didn't hurt, but i felt bruised afterwards - but then we didn't have that much nookie when i was pregnant cos OH didn't want to hurt the baby

my tear's opened up again though, so sex is back off the menu; plus connor sleeps with us, so that's a passion killer anyway!!

noone said anything to me about waiting 6 weeks - if you feel ready, go for it

We managed it 2 weeks after, I had a episotomy btw...it was a bit sore but worth it!!!

i thought you had to wait til after the 6 week check for some reason.

also, how soon can you get an implant or depo provera injection? some websites say 3 weeks and some say 6

You can have sex as soon as you like after birth if there were no tear/stitches etc its perfectly fine
Just take it easy and use lubricant is necessary, and tell OH to stop if you feel uncomfotable and best wishes

I was told that I should have sex before my 6 wk check so that I can tell the doctor if there is anything wrong! I still haven't helaed so that hasn't happened!!

I was also told that with the pill you must go on it within 3 wks or you have to use other contraception, not sure if the same applies to implant or depo.

i had to wait ages as had placeta and womb problems (liquid in the lining). We are now (only just!!) at the stage where we have sex most days but it still hurts at start. My OH thinks they put an extra stitch in!!

I didn't stop bleeding with DD for 8 weeks - am still bleeding now but only a little bit. It stopped a week ago for a day and I decided to check my cervix (don't ask why, just wanted to know what it was doing with itself now it had done it's job ) and that has set it off again

Still DS is in bed with us (usually in the middle to prevent DH from getting to me ) so it kinda kills the mood
