i bled for about 6 weeks then had a week break and then had my first period which lasted about 12 days! would have been ready to have sex after that i think.

with my first i bled for about a fortnight really heavy and didnt dare try and attempt sex for about a good month or more, i was scared it was going to rip where i had a stitch but didnt really hurt at all in the end.

with my second i only bled for 4 days and then only waited a couple of weeks because it isnt so bad with your second i think.

with tia i bled for ages and am still a bit sore at times plus i have no man to try it out on even though the urge is there in force

now i really have embarassed myself

I can't remember how long I bled for but I think it was heavy for about a fortnight. I had a tear but no stitches but we didn't have sex until after my checkup which was at 10 weeks! To be honest I was too knackered and stressed out for any of that and also scared of what it would be like! I was worried about being different down there but my OH says not apparently!? I have to admit that it was sore for months afterwards but that was probably because I tore inside- also I realised after a bit that I was always tensing up at the beginning, expecting it to hurt for the first few seconds but if I took 2 seconds to relax at the start if you see what I mean I had no problems whatsoever! I think it was worry that it would be sore that made me tense up for a long time.

I think I had a few glasses of wine before my "first time" which was probably quite helpful!

haha good tip, get drunk lol. dont think ill be doing it anytime soon tho. my husbands work hours have turned crap. feel like i barely see him he's at work from 10-10 and i literally go to bed wen he gets home.. sorry mini rant lol

i bled for about 2wks heavily then just like slight brown discharge for another 2, think it was about 3wks when we first had sex again

though im yet to get my coil fitted, still wondering when my period will arrive, hope i dont need HRT again

We didn't have sex for 3 months. I was only sore for about half of that but then we were just so glad to go to bed and sleep as Jake wasn't sleeping much then that we couldn't be bothered with sex. When we finally did do it it was fine and no pain and it felt the same. It just depends on when you feel ready and if you don't then don't feel you have to do it. I know some people do it just a week after the birth and some wait 6 months or more.

I'm still bleeding now - sob (9weeks). I have a fibroid though. Did attempt sex early on though and it was fine but havn't since as knackered and really finding OH unattractive as he has a cr*p attitude and pisses me off with regards to helping out. He is in the dark ages still.

I'm no where near having my baby, but I read on one of the posts here that you bleed for weeks after having a baby. (see "sex after birth" post)
i wasn't aware of that! please tell me more. What kind of bleeding is it? is it like having your periods? or just getting rid of all the placenta fluid etc.?
