Severe pain in right side

Could really do with some advice ladies please

I'm 7+2 at the minute and for the last two days, I've had really severe pain in my right side. Yesterday, it was so bad I was howling in pain at some points. It then went away for a bit but has come back this afternoon.

I've had no bleeding or any other signs that something os wrong. Do you think it's pregnancy related or something else?

Definitely worth calling doctors to be checked out and could be pregnancy related. I know ectopic pregnancies are known to cause severe pain on one side so best to get checked to rule that out x

Definitely get checked out asap, dont want to scare u but it could be ectopic, thats one of the classic signs. It may not be but if it is then u need intervention as your tube could burst!

I had wondered about that but wouldn't I also have bleeding if an ectopic?

I'm still in some pain though it's subsided quite a bit now. I was thinking of going to A&E tonight but wasn't sure if there was any point as there probably won't be anyone to scan me till tomorrow anyway. If I'm still in pain in the morning then I'm going to go then.

I would go to A&E as soon as possible. They will scan you if you are in a lot of pain, even if you are not bleeding. I wouldn't wait. Fingers crossed everything is ok xx

U dont always bleed straightaway, if it is ectopic then the bleeding may not start for a few days but damage could have already been done. With ectopic the pain is caused by the embryo starting to implant and grow in your tube, bleeding wont start until the pregnancy begins to break down. I would have gone to a&e tonight and say how much pain you are in, someone will be able to scan u, it will be classed as urgent just in case!
P.S one of my best friends had an ectopic pregnancy a few weeks ago and she went to a&e with severe pain, she only started bleeding after they gave her the injection to start it off x

Had a bad night last night so have come down to A&E first thing. Been through triage and now waiting to see doctor.

I had ectopic pregnancy in January & mine was pain in my left side & a small bleed which happened way after the pain started.

The pain can come from the tube rupturing which is life threatening; I had to have my tube removed but 4 weeks later I was pregnant with this baby.

Let us know how you get on!!

Update: So seen doc and had bloods taken. He thinks it's more likely to be a problem with my kidneys like kidney stones than an ectopic.
He's referred me down to gyno though so they can make sure. Hopefully they'll scan me!

Finding keeping LO entertained very hard work when lying here in pain. Typical this is the day my mum and dad are away visiting my nephews so no one to look after her!!

I know this sounds silly but FX for kidney stones , hope they scan you and you can get some reassurance on baby x

Good news

They did a scan and the baby was in the right place, growing nicely and its' little heartbeat was flickering away. Can't tell you how relieved I am!!!

The pain they think was caused by combination of a kidney infection and a giant cyst on my ovary that they found. It's a real whopper at 7.5cm x 6.5cm. So I've been sent home with some antibiotics and strong painkillers and told to come back again on Thursday is still in pain.

That's great news about baby hope they can clear the kidney infection up with meds too. What did they say about the cyst, are they going to keep an eye and hope it disappears? Xx
