My OH had this done as a baby. He is South African and it's very common over there for hygiene reasons. My boys aren't done, although Mason's is very tight and I need to talk to my HV about it cos he wees at an angle because of it.

Sorry I haven't really answered your question, I'm still not sure about having it done to a baby unless there is a medical reason for it.

to be honest i really dont know bout religious
but wen B was like 6 weeks old he seemed to have an infection that seemed very painful for him at one stage there wsa tlk about a circumsition (cpl) as they thought it may also be summit to do with the foreskin with the pain he seemed to be in i would have done nething, thats my 2 pennies on it neway :D

my ex husband had to have it done at age 20 as his kept splitting during sex apparently its a lot more painful as you get older not sure if id have it done though unless there was a medical reason xxx

i went out with a lad who had been circumcised for religious reasons and he HATED it. It takes away sensation and makes nobs smaller.
Ive known other men who have had it and they have hated it too.

but on another hand ive known a bloke who had to have it done coz his foreskin was too tight and it was a god send to him.

my opinion on this subject is don't chop it unless necessary.

no, no, no, no, have you seen the size of their wee willies :( , i was asking dh where it would eb done and we couldnt tell. His willy is so small (joes, not dh's) that it doesnt seem right.

If, though when he is older and there is a problem which would require it to be done then yeah sure.

No I couldn't do it. Damien has a tight foreskin coz he wee's at a funny angle like Mason Urchin, but it might correct itself as he gets older. I''ll leave it till he's older I think, I wouldn't put him through it just because it 'looks better' and it isn't necessarily cleaner if a guy has proper hygeine anyway.

Yeah, this is exactly why my OH wants him to have it done. He had it done when he was 12 and was one of the most painful thing he has ever had done.........apparently its because before puberty they do not get erections, which would obviously really hurt. I probably wouldn't even consider it but my OH is convinced he will have trouble. All the males in both sides of our families have had problems/circumcisions (my OH and brother had the same problems with peeing at an angle) so I am getting quite biased views.
I don't know..........thanks for the opinions. We will definitely talk it over a lot more and seek some medical advice. Thanks :)

My mum thinks my 5yr old brother needs it he is always crying with a stinging wily. bless him.

iv never been with a man thats had circumcision.
iv never seen a dinkle that has been either.

harleys is abit like masons and damos it goes to the side and looks tight.

awwwww i feel nasty talking about his dinkle to the entire world

but if he needed it theni dont see a problem :?
how do they do it? would they put him to sleep?
are they in bad pain?

do they do it on the NHS if parent worries they might have troubles in the future?

i think that i should have had kieran's done when he was small as he seemed at that point to have too much skin. dont know about now as i wouldnt really invade his space.

Ah bless your little brother, my mates little boy is going through the same thing and now he's scared to go to the toilet.
I'm not sure how they do it, but I think that it would hurt, but like rach said, I think the older you get the more painful it is. I didn't even think about it until last week when my OH just casually mentioned it like we had already planned to do it!!
Think it will be best if I find out if there is any heredity connection and go from there.

A TMI question! but will I have to clean under my little boys dinkle (foreskin)??

Ditto. We've talked about LO being done but Ive no idea how to go about it, when to do it and will need to find out a lot more before I agree. OH wants to because as you say its the norm in SA

I think OH was an anomoly then ;)

My OH has been "de-hooded" and he is fine with it and I have no complaints either :D

I personally wouldn't get it done to my child unless its medically necessary but thats my choice, there are no cultural or religious reasons for me to get it done.

The baby's forskin is fused to the willy for the first few years so you should not try to clean under it until then. From what I understand the procedure is usually done under local.

its really popular then. i have never really heard of it before.

but i do prefer of it being more cleaner.
