Rusksafter all my worrying if i should let her suck on a rusk or not i decided to let her have a go but within 5 seconds she had a big lump bitten off and in her mouth, is this normal? i thought they were ment to be hard enough to just be gummed on till it was a soggy paste? or is it ok to let her have the lump iin her mouth and let it go soggy ? she is still only on puree foods but wanting to move her on a bit ?

K does the same. I just watch her closely. They seam to dissolve pretty quickly, and she just sucks on it.

Ah should have let her be but I panicked n took it off her needles to say she was not impresses n screamed d place down

It's natural to be a bit anxious when they first start to have 'lumpy' foods, I was a nervous wreck  But rusks should be fine as long as you keep a close eye, they usually dissolve after a good sucking so shouldn't cause any trouble :)

thats how they learn to make chewing motions hun, let her be unless she really chokeson it. if she coughs and gags a little give her a chance to clear it herself before panicking too as she wont think its a big deal then :)

ok thanks hun, ill give that a go tmrw when im not on my own x

Its only 1030 so havnt tried it yet lol gonna give it to her after her 12 pm bottle i thin

OH does weekend mornings to let me have lie in n wasnt missin out so didnt tell him to try hahaha,

How's Lyssa getting on with hers?

shes doin great, grabbing lots of foods and stuffing them in her mouth even if she does spit them back out after theyre mushed a bit lol. she seems to like egg yolk (bit early i know but it was only a tiny bit). ive got her organix rice cakes to try too as a snacky thing. she does looove her rusks tho and can gum a whole on into bits if left long enough. i just break them in half when giving her them hard.

She still kinda just takes monster bites out of it and does gag a little but defo loves them, thinking of trying toast this evening so guessing just put butter on to soften it and cut it into a little finger?

or can they have butter?

i think if its unsalted they can lol, or marge as long as its only a lil bit it wont hurt them, ive not given lyssa toast yet, i will do tomorrow for brekkie i think for a change lol. shes had some of her dads fruit toast tho and liked it

woops Oh gave her buttered toast earlier n she was a very happy lil girl sucking the butter off lol

he just gave a big square and held it in his and and just let her gum n suck on the edges cos he was too scared to give her a little finget to hold her self incase she just rammed the whole thing in her mouth

ohhh good girl did she like it?

lol i completely forgot to make toast and she had rusk and banana again. i did give her some fish out of a fishfinger yesterday at lunchtime tho and a peti filou. she loves the filous now lol, wasnt too sure when i first gave her one and i ended up eating it but she wolfed it down yesterday. her daddy is looking after her today while i go out and paint a mural so hes gonna give her scotch pancakes i think lol

Ohhh i was only wondering about the peti filou are they ok to have them now yeah? think its all dairy from 6 months is it? gonna try her with one i think and maybe some cheese

enjoy your day out painting, what is the mural of?

ah its just some vines, shes doing her lb's room as a jungle themed room so i did a zebra for her and she had a lot of stickers. then she wanted vines and leaves round the room to fill up empty space. its coming on good, almost done the vines now just shading leaves and outlining to do lol. i thought id try alyssa on the peti filou a lil early as shes always trying to get my yoghurts lol, it dosent seem to have caused any reaction this time where last time she had yoghurt she got a lil rash. yeah its supposed to be dairy from 6 months but a week or 2 i dont think will make much difference. as if theyre tummys know when theyre exactly 6 months old lol. ive given alyssa a little egg yolk last sunday and a lil tiny bit of scrambled egg since and shes been fine. wouldnt wanna do it too often just introducing it gradually maybe like once a week

yeah thats what i was thinking, lyssa sounds like kayla in that shes been quite advanced in a lot of ways, ( alrhough my lazy puddin still wonr roll from tummy to back lol) so think she be fine with dairy now, sure when we were kids they gave it at 3 r 4 months anyway

aww the room sounds lovely, i was thinking of doing something like that in our new place cos even though i have loads of bits hung on the wall and nice curtains the walls are such a stark shade of beige the room just feels so cold and drab

Alyssa only rolls onto her side cos shes grabbing her feet, she really has no interest in it but she can sit up unaided for a few mins easy and dosent sway badly. she just lunges for things and so is trying to get crawling before shes able to lol. gave her toast, scotch pancake, ricecakes and a breadstick for brekkie this morning
