Not sure if my waters have started to break but I think that maybe my labour is starting.
Didnt get much sleep last night (couldnt sleep until 4:30 am then had to go somewhere at 6:30am) havent felt very well for last couple of days, so went to sleep for an hour earlier and my head started playing up a little before I went to sleep, woke up and it was spinning like hell (also been told I have looked pale for last day or two) but I have been getting pains (not really big contractions yet) my erm bowels  have started emptying themselves, I have basically had everything, my EDD is Sunday.
So I need your help, I have previously posted that I am terrified of giving birth and the stories my sisters and friends have told me I am really panicking, I am not too bad at the moment but I know I am going to start soon, so can people please help me through this? I am still undecided about pain relief as none of them take my fancy, I dont like gas and air and pethadine isnt much better, but I also dont fancy losing the control of my legs either :(

can someone please help, I really dont want to panic or anything

Hey hun
Maybe the bowel movements are to do with your nerves?
I know i was like that. Anyway I felt exactly the same as you do i.e. petrified from all the stories everyone had 'helpfully' told me. But for me when the time came, some strange calmness came over me it was almost as if well ok I have no choice now, here it comes.
I had all pain relief possible! Started with a tens machine (I found this quite good) and a bath at the hospital which was lovely. Then when pain increased I had pethidine, and then in the really strong throes of labour I had gas and air (which made me puke all over Hubby haha!) and also an epidural. I couldn't feel my legs but you know what I didn't care two hoots about that. It was bloody wonderful! I thought I had quite a high pain threshold but my labour was quite long and I just thought sod it, if i can get help then why not!!??!
Anyway i know its a cliche but its soooo true when people say you forget the pain as soon as the baby is in your arms. And if it was really that bad, we women wouldn't go on to have more than one baby.....
Sorry for long reply, but try and relax (haha), before you know it your beautiful baby will be in your arms. Good luck xx

dont worry too much the signs are good but i had these signs for about 2 weeks before i gave birth so it could still be a wait or it could be anytime now.

have you thought about hypnotherapy? it might help with your anxiety. when you are in here doing it you probably wont feel as scared cause you will be more concentrated in getting the baby out safe & sound and also excited.

try not to worry, take a nice hot bath maybe :)

well I am just going to go down the hospital and have (another) check to see if waters have broken and go from there.
feel a bit better now and dont think that I am, and that maybe it was a little bug that I am getting over hence the sickness and stuff (though I dont know why they didnt tell me Saturday) and I am quite miffed as I have to now travel 17 miles to the hospital (one way) because my midwife wont come out (in case my waters have broken-that is all I want to know!)
earlier when I was getting few pains and stuff I actually thought, right, I will do this and get through it but now I am scared all over again!!

Thank you for your words so far :)

Hey Kristal, hope your baby comes soon I had the same symptoms as you when i was about to give birth, try not to worry too much about the birth, we have natural pain relief in our bodys that help you out, i had a natural birth some gas and air bout two puffs that made me sick. Womans bodies are pretty remarkable were shaped for childbirth so youl cope just fine im sure, fingers cross you go soon XkelX

oh I am so fed up!

Waters have not broken :( but I do have (sorry this is going to be TMI) a thick discharge :( sooo not happy, thought I had finally got my head aound it and was going somewhere with it but it was not to be, grrr.
I feel like such a idiot now for al the trips to hospital and getting peoples hopes up that this could be it :(

dont be fed up just go with the flow it will happen soon, at the end of my pregnancy i was wishing it away, now iwish i hadnt and just enjoyed it more cause boy does time fly!

Youl be there soon enough, i had a few false labours in and out of hospital too, i think with people who havnt had kids their 1st pregnancy they tend to get false or trial labours, My sister always said oh youl know when you in labour, well i thought i knew a few times, everyone can be fooled with them, im sure you wont be too long now though XkelX
