Has anyone else had sore ribs? does anyone know what this is, I know its not baby kicking them yet... but just a general pain?

Thanks ladies xx

I had this, and it was just before my MW appointment, when I told MW she felt and said it was babies feet  just rubbed gently and got baby to move, but think she is on my bladder now lol

I get sore ribs but mostly only when ive been travelling or sitting in the car for a few hours, only generally lasts a day or two though. Could just be babys positiion?

I had this on my right side, it felt like my intercostal muscles in between my ribs. My doctor told me it was Osteochondritis. There isn't anything they can do except prescribe painkillers which I couldn't take anyway. It turned out I had Polyhydramnios (excess amniotic fluid) which is why my ribs were stretched and hurting so much. It was just on the right side though, it hurt more when sitting, driving only relief was bein lay down.

I have this too. I just thought of it like if a balloon was being blown up slowly just underneath our rib cage, it would force its position to move out slightly. I just thought it was everything moving up and getting bigger. They don't feel to bad today but some days are worse than others.

Thanks girls, I just really don't think its baby yet cause I feel all her kicks lower down than my ribs.. They are just achey, may say to the midwife, but thats 3 weeks away! maybe they will be able to tell me something at my scan ? Its a week today xx

i would have thought its the general aches & pains of your ribs being forced to expand to accomodate the baby. I remember having really sore lungs after the birth of my son (sounds rediculous doesnt it!!) but I guess they'd been squished up so high for months & months that after I had my 1st born there was then space for them to drop back down again....felt very odd!!

Think I am just all aches and pains the now, im like a frail old lady
