I think Calleigh has dropped into this since she was poorly.

She will feed from me in the day but they are only short feeds where as her night ones are long and takes from both breasts.

Now i am returning to work so i am guessing that this will stay as she will be having less access to me during the day, however as from my previous posts i have stated that she isnt eating much solids (currently a few bites of food per day).
Is this possibly because she is having what she needs throughout the night?
Has anyone else experienced this and how long term did you find it?

Thanks

Lil miss does this.. She doesn't really take much from me in the day...but goes all out for booby at night. She'll even take both boobs at least twice a night...

In the day there is just WAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY too much to learn and do and time sat on mummy's lap having booby is time wasted. :shakehead:

Lil miss also isn't a big eater.. Some 4 month olds on here eat more than lil miss.. Today all she had was 3 tsps of porridge and a small bowl of peas and pasta... which mostly ended up on the floor  Saying that she did help herself to a big chunk of my mum's homemade fruit Christmas cake.. (heavy on the fruit...I don't think she uses anything else.. :rotfl: )...

but some days its mostly boob. :)

Don't worry...babies honestly can't starve themselves, unless they are ill or have a medical condition... if you worry she will pick up on that. :) Just go with the flow.. You might find she eats more when you start working :) or she might just not be growing so doesn't need much food. :)

Oh yeah Calleigh has been put down to bed after a mammoth 1 hr 15 min feed  at 8.15pm, she will then wake roughly 4 hrs later have another huge feed lasting over half hour and then again 4 hrs later. Then i think we get to morning and she has her breakfast feed.

In comparison her day feeds last between 1 to 10 minutes.

I think i will manage with the night feeds when i am back at work well i havent a choice

I am hoping she will eat more whilst at nursery just so she can get a taste for different foods, because at the moment she rarely touches anything that is put in front of her so is limiting her experiences of food. I have given up all hope of feeding her with a spoon she wont entertain that one at all. Hopefully this will not cause fussiness when it comes to food.

I have been having similar experiences the last few weeks and decided not to stress out and try and go with the flow, Eva doesnt eat a great deal solids wise either and I was also worrying that she was compensating with boob at night, but...............the last few days she has eaten more in the day and last night she slept through for the first time ever!!!!!! So I am hoping it was just a phase and hopefully the same will be true for you too, our LOs are near enough the same age, I could certainly get used to uninterrupted sleeps!

Hey Clarey
Glad your having some well deserved shut eye :)

I was also thinking that she may be going through a bit of a growth spurt currently as her nursing in general has increased in frequency so we will see how she goes.

GROWTH SPURT!!! :wall: I never thought of that lol ! I have just put loads of Evas sleepsuits away as they were squashing her toes and never even linked that to her feeding pattern recently! :rotfl:
I hope you are right for Calleigh too and she settles down again soon

I've noticed Galen is doing this also the past couple of weeks as his day time feeds have gotten mostly shorter and more infrequent.

Last night he had a big feed at bedtime which was 7pm. Then woke and wanted the boob at 11.20pm and had a massive feed. Woke again at 2.10am and had both boobs and again at 5am ish and had another fill up   He then woke at 7.10am wide awake and didn't want any boob then, just to be off and motoring. He won't have anything now till breakfast porridge about 8.45-9am.

I part co sleep, part settle him in his cot. Last night though he spent the entire night in bed with me, which I am sure is part of the reason he feeds so much. When in his cot often the 2am time he will go back to sleep if I am not there.

He is also rolling around in his sleep now and in the middle of the night likes to lie on his side and sleep. He wakes himself when he hits the cot sides but will settle again usually.
