With frozen solids I remember having to thaw & then reheat to piping hot temperature & leave to cool before feeding, so I was confused to read that with frozen breast milk they say to thaw & warm through. Why is it okay to warm through breast milk but for food you have to heat it up to such a high temperature to kill any nastys off?

I'm sure it's because heating breast milk too high kills off all the antibodies and goodness in it too. And something about lipids? (really wasn't paying attention in boobie class when we covered this!).

Ah ok...am going to find this hard to do at first seeing as I had to heat the life out of everything else with my other 2 b4 they had it! Lol. Thanks for your answer x x x

I use water out the hot tap, in a bowl and leave for about 5-10 mins. It's usually enough. X

I normally do the same as ROL - I leave it in a pyrex of hot tap water to thaw out. You can also leave it in the fridge overnight to defrost :)
