First of all Millie is sooo gorgeous! Congratulations! With my first baby I remember initially she seemed to feed constantly. I felt like a cow I was dispensing so much!I think it's because they only have wee tummies so they digest the milk quickly and need to feed fairly frequently. As she got older she fed for longer and the gaps got bigger!
Tia fed constantly in the first 6 weeks....My boob was constantly in her head. It got better once I started weaning her...but before then it used to take around an hour to feed her then half hour later she wanted more. The problem with breast milk is that it is easily digested so breast fed babies tummies are always running on empty.
If Millie is being sick a lot after feeding try giving your little one boiled water first instead of a feed. The first part of breast milk is thirst quentching and she may just be thirsty rather than hungry sometimes, but ends up filling up on the full milk and then is sick. Alternatively, especially if she throws up all the breast milk regulary, you could try topping her up with some formula milk from a cup which will sit in your baby's tummy and make her less hungry...but remember...the more you breast feed the more milk you will make and topping up can interfere with this although once or twice won't hurt.
As long as your little one is a good weight you can be assured that she is getting enough food even if she is sickly.
But yes... welcome to the being a human cow... for the next few weeks
If you are giving purely breast milk you can't over feed her. It is probably not all of the milk coming back up but just looks like it. Babies have to eat more than they want to stretch their tummies so they can go for longer between feeds.
It does get easier. Sometimes Jack just wanted comfort so I would let him suck my finger instead and he would go to sleep. Also try stroking her cheek when she stops feeding so that she will carry on feeding and not got to sleep. This worked with Jack, now he more or less finishes a boob in about 5 - 10 minutes.
