PREGNANCY & WORKING!

thats great your boss has been understanding, iv just told my boss im a nursery nurse so cant do much lifting now as well

im getting based a bit more in the office now but im very tired all the time i feel and im quite lucky i can sometime take a break when i want and have a sleep in staff room. Only thing is keeping it quiet from my other colleages they are getting suspicious.

Glad all is going well for you hun take care

I am a vet so have had to tell everyone at work as we use xrays etc. I am still doing my usual work but not lifting heavy dogs etc and making sure I am well out of the way for xrays etc

We don't really have a staff room as such so at lunch time I sit in my car and try and have a nap. If I am working late I also try and do this at 4pm for half an hour.

I'm a teacher and have a large class of primary age children. I am feeling very nauseous constantly at the moment. I've had a rotten weekend, just existing trying not to be sick :( I'm dreading going to school tomorrow as its not a job I can sit quietly in the corner with! I'm just hoping this awful sick feeling dissappears soon!

I work with OTA's and two have in the last year had babies. Most of their job is to carry out home visits and we can get some really bad visits. One of these girls was sick in a clients house which wasn't the most pleasent house she had been in. She had to make her appologise and leave - later sending a card and flowers due to the carpet being ruined. Its good your boss has given you more of an admin based job until you feel better.

You should ask work to complete a risk assessment for the tasks that you will be completing. A lot of our OT's that I work with have restricted duties when they are pregnant and often get taken off of doing Manual Handling tasks. Im sure if your boss is able to complete these it might make you fel a little bit better?

If there isn't anything you are comfortable doing and you feel that it compromises your safety or the safety of your baby dont do it.

Hope you feel better soon x

you gotta work with unpleasant smells might be that triggering the sickness aswell as morning sickness. if u can take some rich tea biscuits or ginger biscuits into work , let them know u got em just incaseso u can have one while u feeling sick if they let ya :)
