Potties!

Hi,

I thought after reading the advice on the Potty poll below that I'd start Elliott off with a potty- just seeing if he'll sit on it occasionally etc so what potty is the best kind? Is a cheapo one just as good as a flash one? Any tips on whether the splash guard thing is worth it for boys? Any tips at all welcomed as I know NOTHING about this!

I bought the fisher price musical one for my boys!

its great when they pee or pooh, they make a trumpet sound

took the splash guard off though cos cameron found it difficult to get his widger in.. with it on, had more accidents on the floor lol

i bought the plain blue one from woolys think it was only about 3 quid had one almost identical in price and style with my other 2 boys aswell

don't think it matters what sort you have hun just be prepared for accidents, boys spray everywhere cos they are usually pullin there willy at just the wrong time

ella has the royal throne too, i brought a normal potty but it was a waste of money, she hated it. Now though she uses the toilet with a squidgy seat cushion

but i have a cheapo one too that i let her decorate with stickers so it was more hers and that one is at my mums and she'll go on both

Are boys supposed to stand when they wee and do you wipe their widgy or shake?

i trained mine sitting down and then when they got old enough well i;d say tall enough to stand at the main toilet thats what they chose to start doin

never really taught them to shake their willy or anythin either, but think their dad has i should check really i just left it to him to fill in all the details as i had no idea how lazy am i lol

Thanks for asking about the standing up thing- I'd forgotten that! I like the idea of the ones that make sounds but what happens when they go in real toilets- do they miss the sounds?

I have to think about a good one to get myself, right now Kiara has a clip on that goes right on our toilet but i want one for downstairs so its more convenient. She likes to just sit on the seat for a few min then get off
