Hi all.
So we have TTC for almost a year now with no success :-(.
I have noticed something different about my period though over the past 6 months or so.
I use ovulation tests so I know when i ovulated but what is strange is immediately after ovulation I start getting PMS symtoms which is how I know I'm not going to get pregnant this month. it's been like that for a while now.
does that mean that the egg does not have enough time to implant? I'm so confused. I start feeling bloated and cramps immediately after ovulation and it lasts until I start my period.
I have a 28 day cycle.
does anyone else have this???
Thank you.

Do you know how long your Luteal Phase is? It should be no less than 10 days for successful implantation.

PMS signs and symptoms are good, it's only the hormonal fluctuations taking place as your body increases Progesterone and decreases Estrogen. If there is no pregnancy Estrogen will once again spike and Progesterone will drop, shedding the lining. Most early pregnancy symptoms are exactly like PMS symptoms, that's why most women can confuse the two.

It's normal for you to experience these symptoms after O and by no means does it indicate that you have an implantation problem.

my luteal phase is about 13days.
I know pregnancy symtoms are quite similar to pms but the symtoms I get are definitely pms as I always get my period!
it's just the same thing every month :-(

Straight after ovulation you get withdrawl from the estrogen before the progesterone kicks in. It's not really PMS but feels similar - anxiety, crankiness, depression etc. I get cramps after too.

Hiya this is what I experience exactly! However mine wasn’t like this before it’s only the last 6months I see a change. I though get it must be because I am nearly 40 years old. I get hormonal changes straight after ovulation too. It’s driving me mad as I used to think I must be pregnant but now I know it’s not. I even wrote down every single symptom and dates times all matches every month. How old are you by the way? I even thought I was going into early menapouse like my mum did :(

I am 34. mine never used to be like that either. it's only been like this for the 5/6 months as well!
I have no idea what's going on with my body but I thought it might be a hormonal change from me getting older but I'm not a doctor so no idea!

I am 34 too and I get really strong pms after ovulatio and only started 1 year ago when started ttc. My boobs are agony and I get a strong sence of smell, I feel tired and thirsty...headaches...nose bleeds cramps....moodiness. you name it I get it now

I wouldn't say I have ovulation symptoms. If we weren't TTC, I don't think I'd notice a thing. I also don't really think I have many symptoms on the run up to AF either other than maybe a few more spots. I've started to notice mood changes around certain points in my cycle but I think now we've found ourselves in the TTC business for the long haul, I actually think it's that that's taking it's toll. I've never been this irritable. Even at work where I've always been the calm level headed one. Was chatting to OH yesterday and he was saying he feels the same way. He's the most good natured person you'll ever meet and I really don't think he's ovulating haha!!

Hi Alexis2017. Have you mentioned it to the docs? Any idea why it has changed for you??

I also forget to mention a few times I have started getting my usual pms symtoms and during that I have gotten a postive opk!? it just doesn't make sense as I know I'm about to get my period!! and I do!
