Leorah decided that we would see the new year in until 3am last night and then decided on an early start to the new year by waking at 5am! I gave in at 6am and we got up!!

Last night she ate so much, it was like she couldn't get enough! She was very happy, not grizzley at all and would fall asleep alot but would not go into a deep sleep. I tried to put her down so many times but then she'd start to cry :wall:

The fireworks didn't help, its unbelieveable here, nearly every house has fireworks and they last all night. It was great for half and hour, me and my crazy dog (she LOVES fireworks  ) hung out the window and it was like a private display!! Anyway after half an hour they were just annoying and so loud they sounded like they were being let off in the house and so Leorah kept jerking in her sleep before settling into a deep sleep.

I also thought it might be because my DH was at work for the first time in a week and he usually does the evening feeds from a bottle but she didn't get to sleep until 1am the day before either. I long for the times we used to moan about her 11pm bedtime

She is 3 months on Friday, does it sound like a growth spurt

I always know when Alfies having a growth spurt as for a week he eats and eats and eats is reastless and sicky, then the week after he just sleeps, he sleeps through feeds the the next week he is back to normal, the week before he still sleeps through but his naps during day are so restless
does this help? it mite be in the next few days she starts sleeping alot more, A got a spurt at 2 weeks 6 weeks and 3 months so sounds as if pretty lady is about ready for 1.

skatty rachael is the same at the moment. unsettled in the day and waking at night!
it is a growth spurt im sure of it. Im trying to remain calm and feeding her whenever she moans for it
im sure it will pass in 24 hours or so.

Thank you both, that's a relief. I do think it seems like a spurt but after such a frantic xmas with loads of visitors I was scared that everything we had had gone out the window :)

when Alfie was poorly in hosp i thought that too but it can be got back quickly if that is the case hun, it took Alfie a week to start sleeping through again but he did it we just kept trying the routine method we'd used before, xmas was a nightmare 4 us too i was at my mums so loads of ppl around messed him about for a few days but bk to normal now, i hope Leorah settles soon for you hun

Thanks Fingerscrossed you are spot on! Leorah slept the whole of yesterday evening only waking up to feed and then went to bed from 11pm until 8am was up for 45 mins and had to go back to sleep again! I can't believe it but I swear she grew over night! The new outfit she got for Xmas that was too big fits her today!!

Budge I hope Rachel is settling back down too.

she seems ok this morning so far but i have had a vile night with her! i virtually latched her on all night and woken up with the still suckling

seems shes ok now thoughand settled and happy again!

Good luck for having a good night sleep tonight Budge, I always thought a growth spurt only lasted 48 hours so I was surprised it can effect them for a week  At least you can sleep while she suckles I never did get the hang of that!

Hi

Glad shes settled now amazing how fast they grow.
