hi  i was just wondering if anyone could help me.I want to edit pictures. I don't have photoshop, do i have to buy it or is there somewhere else on the web i can do this?

i'm useless with computers so need something simple. I just want to be able to frame pictures and fade parts etc

thanks :D

Photoshop is *really* expensive, £569 to be exact from their online site, but you can download a free trial to see what you think http://www.adobe.com/uk/products/photoshop/photoshop/

You could always download a cracked version or something, but depends how you feel about doing such things. TBH there are enough open source free alternatives out there you don't have to. Just a case of digging around for them.

I use The Gimp for pic editing etc. Its an open source free piece of software. Used it for 4 years now and it does a god job. I also have Fireworks (expensive) and a few other open source free ones.

If you have Windows click this one http://www.gimp.org/windows/

Have a looksee, it might not be for you, but I like it.

You may also be able to edit them in a somewhat limited way in your photo preview sw.

I really can't remember much about Windows and how it works anymore been so long since I used it.

The only negative about the proper photoshop version is that it's such a clunky peice of software it can take literally days to figure out how to do really simple things.

Unless you're prepared to invest a lot of time learning your way round it (full price or cracked!!!) I would stick to the alternatives. I know I get very frustrated by PS.

A great place to go for advice is UK Scrappershttp://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/ There is a section devoted to digital scrapping which will give you ideas and advice on all aspects of digital photo manipulation. Check the forums as a lot of the users will be able to point you in the right direction.
