Sorry this is going to be long....

So behind the story, I have mental health issues and the pregnancy have made these a lot worse as I stopped all medication when I be one pregnant as I new I could cope without meds as I have coped before. Anyhow it's my partner who has unfortunately got the brunt of it which as made our relationship rocky, he moved out on the 28th may and my hours dropped at work because of severe sickness. I decided to seek advice and was told to apply for income support, so 13th June I applied for income support i put that i was still with my partner as i didnt want to lie because even tho he had gone back to his mums we was still on and off and i put that it could be temporary as I thought it might of been I rung up 3/4weeks later for an update and it turned out the letter I had sent confirming my claim, wages ect had not been recieved and most likely to have been lost in the post, so they sent another out I sent it back so over a week ago I rung again and they said that it was going to a special department because someone one would have to decide whether I was eligible, (I didn't see why I wouldn't be) rang up everyday since then and still hadn't decided how hard to say yes or frigging no, the kind lady even made sure it was a proirity case, so me and partner decided that he might as well stay at his mums until we move into a new property after Leo was born to save abit of money, so I told them on the 17th of this month that this was the case rung them today for them to say well you are only eligible from the 17th of July because that's when you told us its not temporary and will be more permanent because apparently my partner could of supported me even tho he wasn't living with me :S so now I have 6 weeks worth of rent and bills to pay with thin frigging air, not entitled to a penny. They expected my poor partner to pay my rent, council tax, food, previous debts I owe, gas electric water tv ect o and a 4 year old that isnt his whilst also paying board and other utilities to his mum o and paying for our unborn child all on a not so decent wage leaving me totally dependant on someone that I don't live with, are they f*cking idiots, I only need help until my son is here and until I can get back to work but since I want to go back to work soon and all this is temp I'm not allowed frig all... Give yourself a pat on the back government at the fact after 6 weeks of stringing me along me living off frig all you decide you don't want to pay me the hundreds that you claim I need to live off, I just don't know where to go from here as I'm now eft with 6 weeks of rent and other bills that I can't afford land get this I'm not entiled to any other benefit because my partner doesn't live with me... Haha seriously, it has stressed me so much I'm just constantly crying and severely depressed tried getting through to cab but they won't answer grrrrrr anyone know any legal stuff that helps support my claim because how is this fair ten weeks before I'm due xx

I don't think a legal route would help you, if you're not eligible there's nothing you can do. I would've thought you'd get housing benefit but I don't know much about it. Are you getting SMP?

But I don't see why I aren't entitled I'm living as a lone parent and fit the requirements and why would Someone from job centre give me false information telling me I'm entitled and they have had 6 weeks from when I phoned to tell me that I'm not entitled but they have all said I am, leaving me 6 weeks is beyond a joke. I was in the same situation with my ex partner when I was pregnant with my first daughter and was entitled then. Even the advisor (who works for income support) was surprised I didn't get it and has told me to re appeal which is what I am doing but hoped someone on here could advise me on how to win my appeal she even wrote to them via email about reconsidering now before the rest of the claim is processed. I got pregnant 2 weeks after starting this job so not entitled and for many weeks not worked the required amount for is it 16 weeks above 30 pound, I won't get housing benefit as I was on no benefit you have to be in receipt of some sort of benefit which Im apparently not entitled to any others if I don't get this one.

Try going to citizens advise they will be able to tell you what your entitlement to :-/ hope this helpd x
