I suffer really bad ovulation pains which only last for 12 hours or so but I'm curious to know if anyone has any experience of ovulation happening before or after the pain? Gonna try opk this month as don't think I'm getting the timing right.

Hi angelkins...i usually get OP on my O day....sometimes i get pinkish cm too. OP can be before, during or after so might be worth using opks x

Heya Melly thanks for the info. I've never noticed pink cm before but will keep a look out. Never realised the spectrum could be so broad so will deffo give opks a go and see what happens x

Not everyone gets the pink cm....a tell tale sign is ewcm that is stretchy....you know youre super fertile then x

I do recall stretchy ewcm around the right time but I was on the same contraception for nearly 10 years so wondering if it will take a bit longer to get out of my system but will keep trying.
I'm currently CD 11 and tried my first opk which was negative as I knew it would...Usually get the pains around CD 17 but wanted to practice, seems pretty straightforward x

Ive only experienced O pain once and that what on the cycle i got pregnant this time. It didn’t last as lin as u describe but it turned out i Od at that time and concieved tha same night that the pain occurred. But i think as u say its a broad spectrum. I also had positives for 3 days around that time, day b4 thats day and day after if I remember correctly xx

I usually get the pains after a positive opk. I assumed the pains were ovulation.

My pains alternate each side every month I assume depending which ovary the egg has been released from so surely must be ovulation pain x
