I hate postal strikes

they were offered a 2.5% payrise, we were offered a 2% payrise Our unions have rejected ours too because inflation is around 4% which would equate to a 2% paycut. We havnt recieved a payrise yet as they are still in negotiations Its happening with most government workers i think.

But im cuious to know why they want a 27% payrise

Me and my husband both work for Royal Mail (well I'm still on maternity leave and after all the messing about don't think I'm going back!) and the strike isn't about the pay rise that's just what the press are saying as this is what Royal Mail have told them!! 27% payrise is ridiculous I don't know where they have got that from
The union haven't asked for anything like!

The strike is about the changes (or modernisation as they put it ) which will lead to job losses in the future! I guess Royal Mail don't want to admit to that!

Luckily the strike is on my husbands day off we can't afford for him to strike!

you can do it online now!! Can't remember the address though I think it is the dvla.

Yeah the disc obviously won't arrive for a few days but you should be able to prove you have bought it online that day!

Also not all post offices will be shut! Some post offices inside some smaller shops are not owned by post office but by the shop! Hope you get it sorted!

yeh you can do your car tax online and it comes with a printable receipt to produce if you asked.
