I have been having them on and off for about a week. The first lot hit in the middle of the night, in between my 'hair' and my belly button, and going down my legs and groin (just like my usual AF pains, but worse). I woke up from a horrible dream where I was bleeding, to these pains! You can imagine what i thought was happening!

I have since had them once more at night, once while stuck for 3 hours on the motor way in the car, once yesterday after dinner (didn't eat much as they came on half way through) and again now I'm at work.

They seem to ease if I have a fart (Sorry!!) so I'm putting them down to trapped wind, but is there anything I can do to help prevent them?? Or even to help them clear faster??

Thanks in advance :)

Hi,

I had some awful pains during my first tri.

I had some bad ones that woke me up in the middle of the night and they were soo bad i couldn't talk, i just had to breathe through them. This was at abouit 7 weeks and again at 11. I was convinced i was having another m/c but as you can see all was fine in the end.

It may be trapped wind, i never found out the cause. But they did stop eventually.

xx

 Hi Sweetie,,,,Pain is always a worry isn't it... Good thing is this does sound like bad wind. I would go speak to your MW or GP and see if they can give you somthing natural to help ease this.
I am sure that if you look at your diet too..... I find when i am PG if I eat Strong crisps ( smoky bacon/ chicken / prawn cocktail etc) I get a really upset tummy and fart like thunder...but now i avoid them all.... Same with really spicy food too..like indian meals... So i guess you might need to look at that also?
Hope this helps..Lv Yvonne xx

Wnt to the docs today, as the cramping is so bad I couldn't stand it any more! he has given me some tablets for Irritable Bowel Syndrome, but says to just take them when its too bad to bear.

I feel better now knowing that I have something I can take, but I'm going to try my best to just go through it without them. The tablets say they are safe, but I don't want to risk it if I don't have to, you know? He did say that it is likely to get better at some point though, so at least I won't be like it for the whole nine months!!!

No chilli or baked beans for me for a while though!!!
