I'm nearly 9 weeks pregnant and feel fine. Well when I say fine I mean sore boobs, chronic morning sickness that seems to last all day etc. I've had two mc - one at 10 weeks and the other at 5. Saw a specialist today who when I asked if I should go on holiday on Saturday said she didn't advise it in case anything goes wrong. I don't know what to do. I feel very different this time as I didn't have any morning sickness the first time.
Any thoughts gratefully received. Oh and I've got a scan on Thursday.

i feel like that as well, i always worry about miscarriages. if i were u i would follow the doctor's advice, at this stage the embryo is so fragile. i wouldnt take any chances. however miscarriages are often due to an initial defect, it's your body's way of getting rid of an embryo that wouldn't have survived, so it's not always what we do that can cause it. but i would still be careful at this stage

Im going away next thursday, im worried I wont be able to go now :(

Hi Jo,
Please don't worry. We need to remember that pregnancy is normal - not an illness. You should go. It's different with me because of my previous mcs but I think she's talking out of her bottom, her very expensive bottom. My hubby has been dying for this holiday for months and is disappointed by her opinion. I only asked because it's to the Caribbean and I don't know if I'd want to go to a hospital there if I have another mc but I also need to think that daily retching means things are going well. I'll ask at my scan on Thursday.
You go girl. everything will be fine.

are you going abroad hun? if your not going far then i suppose ask at your scan and see what they say, they may give you better info.

good luck with your scan hun!

yea best not to go as u are in early stages and not past teh 12weeks stage. i wouldnt go on hol till around 20weeks at least. im not aloud to get a plane as im over 27weeks.

if a car journey make sure u have lots of stops as its gonna be uncomfy, a plane i wouldnt bother boarding it.

hi hun, i had a m\mc in dec 2001 and fell pregnant not long after with my DD i went to greece when i was 10 weeks and i had my scan 2/3 days before. my m/w said that there wouldnt be any risk. sometimes being to careful and stressing over it can be worse, if a miscarriage is going to happen it will there isnt anything we can do about i so i thik you should go on holiday hun and enjoy yourslf. it is your choice but positive thinking does us all the world of good. hth xxxx

hi all,
Just back from having my scan which was an amazing experience. Baby was swimming around and it's heart was going like the clappers. Saw it's head, brain and spine and the doctor said that all looked well and healthy.
Found out afterwards that there's bruising on womb which is probably from implantation so I may have a little bit of bleeding yet. I'm also a little further on - 9 weeks and 2 days.
Think we're going to go on our hols. We can fly back if there's a problem. A positive mental attitude is the most important thing and I'll make sure to get lots of rest.
I cried when I saw the baby. It really was amazing.
