Maxicosi car seat/infant carrier - when do I....

take the inner padded bit out?
Eva is starting to look a bit squashed, she is nearly 13lb but only 3 months old, and the seat looks enormous without the infant headrest bit in, and she wouldnt be lying so flat either, but feel bad cramming her in as it is!
Anyone have one of these? when did you take this bit out?

i've got the chico seat with the inner pad, it says that the max weight with it still in is 6kg which is 13lb 3oz

it says in the manual as OH wanted to take the head hugger out already and i had to prove him wrong

The Maxi-Cosi CabrioFix has a removable seat insert (7) to creat a flater lying position for newborn babies
and support the head in a sideways direction. When the baby is (approx 4 or 5 months) remove the filling
block (8) to make the seat deeper, then you can still use the head support.

My OH is the one going on about removing bits too! Must be a man thing...
