We're finally moving out of our cold dingy 1bed flat :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: It was too small with Isaac and now its juts like a storage place there's stuff everywhere, we're so pleased to be moving its indescribable

The new place has been fully re-plastered so we need to decorate everything, ceilings, walls and floors. Not the best time of year, we're very panicky as I'm wanting to get the floors down first before all the furniture goes in, with 2 small children and a dog it they need doing I reckon! Anyways, where we can we're sanding and varnishing, elsewhere its carpet or lino (I've seen on these design shows there's some lovely lino out nowadays and cheaper than laminate :? )

So I was wondering, does anyone have any helpful advice with regards to where to hire sanding equipment from cheaply, as well as lino/carpet floor fitters, and if they allow weekly/monthly payment as that would really really help us out with Christmas upon us. We're in Leeds, so any company/firm that trades/works in this area. Also, Isaac and Ophelia will be sharing the same room (there is a spare room downstairs and a possible loft room but for now they will be sharing, well Ophelia's with me for the forseeable future anyways hehe Anyways, for those with opposite sex children who share, how did you decorate their room? I'm being nosey but looking for ideas :D

Thankyou in advance for replies

There's a place in Shipley called United Beds and Floors, its near the Focus DIY store as you go in as though you have driven from Baildon. They had some really lovely lino flooring in and it was reasonably priced too. They have a list of local companies that they can arrange to fit it for you.

Have you tried homebase for the sander hire? I know there's a little hardware store here in Yeadon on Kirk Lane that do that too.

Could put a wanted advert on your local freecycle and ask if anyone has a sander you could borrow for a few weeks.

We bought a cheap sander from B&Q a few years back.

I remember when I was about seven going round to my friends house from school and her and her brother shared a room. Half the room was painted blue and half the room painted pink and they had bunk beds in the middle which divided the room into their own sides.
