im really scared of anything going wrong

I am still having period pains and sometimes they get really bad in both sides, is this normal? I also often get a really sore lower back :?

I am re-assured as i have had no spotting at all but these pains just make me wonder. I am in the middle of booking a private scan for when i am 8 weeks but should i make it for earlier than that?

Thanks ladies!

 i know how you are feeling, it looks like we are all feeling this.
cramp and back pain are all really normal in early pregnancy but it doesnt stop us worrying, i would say try and hold off with the scan 8 weeks is a good time for a scan, you wouldnt want to be in my situation being scanned when its too early to see anything, this just makes you worse. Its good that you have no bleeding, you could always see how things go over the weekend and if you are still worried you could always phone your early pregnancy unit on monday.

Sounds like normal early pregnancy. I had aches, back ache and also stretching pains. Try to relax and not worry so much. Most of us get worried about all the things that start happening to our bodies, its a natural thing, but try not to panic over it all.

As I understand it a lot of private places don't scan before 8 weeks anyways, so I'd hold off, as babydust said, in case it worries you more not seeing anything (as is often the case during early scans) and go at 8 weeks.

I agree with those two, I just had a 6 week scan which showed a sac and yolk sac but no baby so that freaked me out a bit. I have since read up and had some advice and it appears not that uncommon (I think I am a day or two out with my dates maybe as well.) To be honest the scan did very little to reassure me so I am now waiting till nearly 8 weeks for rescan.

Period type pain is pretty normal at the beginning anyway, as is backache so try not to worry too much

I'm still having crampy feelings and a lower back ache, its quite normal, but if you're worried go see your GP, very best wishes I hope you feel better real soon

Hi Lillou,

I had the same but was told by my midwife that it is very common during early pregnany..

..I started a thread called "CRAVINGS & SYMPTOMS" in 1st Tri somewhere... Lots of women have replied, might be handy to check it out and see how many others are having the same symptoms?

I've just checked, nearly all the girls are, I know it's not the definitive answer you're looking for but I hope it puts your mind at rest a little bit babe xx

i had the cramps until a few days ago, things have settled down mow

yeah i have backache feels like i constantly need a massage, try not to worry hon, a ood tecnique is to allow yourself to worry for a time limit say 5-10mins if u really must and then get on with your day otherwise you end up thinking all sorts and feeling even worse...

x

I had the same, they are less frequent now at 8 weeks but have come to adjust to this feeling that everything is well and something is happening to my body to adjust another human in there :cheer: Try not to worry, easier said than done but this is a very usual sign of pregnancy..

thanks everyone

im feeling a lot better today, i cant expect my body to make a wee baby and not feel anything so im just getting used to it and hoping its all normal!

Ditto what the others have said.

With my first pregnancy, I had cramps all the time. It always feels like your AF is about to arrive.

It's perfectly normal.

This time I have no cramps just backache.

Good luck with your scan in a couple of weeks.
