Today was Seren's last jab for a while. She had her 4 month jabs and I was really worried as the last time she had really screamed for ages and was hard to calm down. This time I decided to feed her whilst she had them, she still cried but calmed down almost straight away as she wanted the boob. Would definately recommend this, my nurse was fab as she said I could stay and feed for as long as it took. Put her in her pram (Seren not the nurse) and she fell asleep straight away. Wish I had done this the first 2 times now.

To say well done I bought her a cloth book about cats, it is furry and shaped like a cat. She has not let go of it since and even fell asleep clutching it lol.

Shame... glad it went better this time round!!
I plug Oscar in when he gets his injections... learned that trick when my daughter was a baby.
Putting an ice pack on prior to jab also decreases the pain.

The book sounds lovely.... enjoy it!

Ella got really upset on her last set of jabs, I plugged her in pretty much straight after. Gave her calpol when we got home and she zonked for ages.

She's got her last ones on May 9th. :shhh: Don't tell her!

I think your brave beanie feeding while she has them, I'd be worried about a bite LOL

I alway feed Brody straight after, it's a great comfort.

I think I'll try that tip in two wks when Olivia has her 2nd set of jabs - first lot she screamed and screamed, I tried to feed her after but she was too upset :(

I wish someone else could take her or at least hold her whilst she has them done but unfortunately noone is around (my family are 450 miles away).

Poor wee lambs....

I fed Ella straight after she had them, and the nurse's were looking at me as if to say, get her dressed and bugger off, there were other people waiting, but I thought they would have let me calm her down first

Here the GP does all the jabs, and the last time I wanted a urine sample tested, so I went out and gave a sample and when I got back into the office the doc had given the jabs and Naomi was looking at me saying - where were you mum, she stuck a needle in me and we had words but it's alright now.... not even a tear, though the doc said that she protested loudly at the moment!

I've been so lucky with Phoebe.

She has had all 3 lots of injections and didn't cry or get ill at any

 GO PHOEBE

Damien had his third lot on Tuesday, had a tiny cry when they did it (have heard the sting a bit!) but came down with a fever and slept all day afterwards - pooor bug :(

The breasfeeding idea is brilliant though!

Thank you for staring this thread you saved me!!
was reading through posts at 9.34 this morning still in my dressing gown having just put babes down for his nap. saw this post and suddenly thought ' oh my god - jabs!!' Alex was due his at 9.50!!
well after a mad dash to get dressed and wake alex up and get him dressed we just got there in time!

needless to say he wasnt amused at being woken up from a nice sleep to be thrown in his buggy and pushed through the village at a million miles an hour then jabbed with a needle in each leg!!

so thanks for the reminder!!

haha no probs.

Seren has been fine, she was happy and her usual bubbly self after a nap. Am pleased that's it over with for a bit, just got the MMR to look forward to :(

So glad we dont have to do it again for ages :D
Hate seeing his little face when they do it - he's over it really quickly but all the same you feel horried as you're their mum and supposed to stop peolple hurting them! :(

i feel for the poor nurse - ours is nice and hates doing it!
