I knew a pup would be hard work but I never contemplated Jess not liking /being scared of it. Pup is very boisterous and jumps up a lot and does a lot chasing. Jessica was screaming blue murder tonight because I put the dog on her knee.
She wont come off the couch if the dog is in the room.

Joe on the other hand loves her. Plays with her and gives her toys etc.

Does anyone have any experiences?

aww this is normal puppy for you.

They will came down and it get easier but for time being if she dont like it try keep them away ans as pup carms down introduce again

wot kinda pup do u have?
have u tried letting her take it for walks get two leads u have one her the other
or letting her give treats
or maybe just leave her n see how she goes on nd once she sees how well joe is liking her, and attention the pup is giving him she may get jealous n want some puppy love :D

awwwwww thats puppies hun and sadly not all children take to puppies,or indeed dogs, straight away. what sort of puppy is it?kiara never had problems with dogs, cadens a bit more wary and we have had to take things a bit steadier but we are getting there now.hopefully things will settle down for.

just a tip,the more fuss you make of jessica makin a fuss in front of her the more she will think its the right thing to do.hope that makes sense

No, I see what you mean. My oh said similar which could explain why she was really uptight tonight, he was backshift.

My wee puppy is a Westie. Very cute but a terrier no less. :D

awwwww westies are cute my sister has one.typical terrier ,greets the kids by giving them a big lick, there not the shyest of dogs are they.mine are labradors and 2 and 6 yrs old but caden screamed at first once he was old enough to see what they were.i used to sit on the floor with the dog next to me and encourage caden to stroke the dog, just a couple of times at first and gradually built it up.now he doesnt scream at all in fact he laughs at them and will happily sit with them.

I wouldnt force the issue if your LO doesnt want to touch/play/pet the dog then dont make her but let her see you do it.just try and keep everything calm.its hard i know but you will get there hun, honest.dont forget you need to teach puppy to be calm and gentle also, its a 2 way thing.and puppy needs to realise that LO's are the bosses too and furher up the pack than the puppy :D hope this makes sense
