I know its not advisable at this stage, but I'm getting a much fatter belly than I need to have at this stage. I want to make sure it's all baby not food. I'm seriously depressed I have to go back.

its actually quitecommen to get a bloated look at the start of pregnancy and dies down soon

What about swimming instead?? Good calorie burner and it just seems less severe than the gym??!! (Although that isn't a scientific viewpoint!)

I've not stopped going so don't worry, just make sure you don't do ab exercises and keep you HR below 140 if you can. You also need to rest for 2 minutes every 10 mins and drink double the amount of water. I've been seeing a personal trainer once a month just to check what I'm doing and get new exercises etc. I felt a lot worse, hotter and more tired at the gym in tri 1 than both 2 and 3 so far, so just remember to take it easy and stop if your dizzy. My tummy was also bloated for a few weeks.

I have always have a belly anyway, due to medication just wanted to get rid of it. I don't swim.

Gym will be fine just don't over do it keep well hydrated an listen to your body stop if u need to but I'd be really careful till u have passed 12 wks unless your body is used to training...I am a zumba instructor & did a 9 hr training day at 14 wks & taught 2 classes a wk up until 28 wks only stopped coz I moved back to Liverpool from London! But I now swim 1/2 times a day it makes mr feel better keeping fit you can still see my muscles in the top of my stomach now even at 33 wks :-
