Morning Ladies,

So yesterday I saw an osteopath as I have been having lower back pain and it turns out I have something called 'Hypermobility Syndrome' basically my joints are looser and more stretchy/flexible than the average person. This sounds great, being flexible but it has affected my back because my back muscles have been working extra hard to compensate for the loose joints :-( I have read a bit about this syndrome in relation to other problem areas such as knees and ankles but not so much the back.

I wondered if anyone else has this? I have heard it can cause complications during pregnancy so just wanted to put it out there and reach out to anyone who has this syndrome and how they experience it?

Hi Leanne
I've never been diagnosed with this but I am very stretchy which comes in handy if you know what I mean  I recon it is just one of those things which is now the doctors think is new. The women in my family all have it and we all had fine pregnancies. Try not to worry. My back hurt towards the end of my last pregnancy but I was HUMANGUS! :) :bump: You may not have any issues with your back. Chin up babe, you'll be fine :dust:

I have this and suffer with it my back especially. Whilst I was pregnant with my son I found my hips hurt from around 16 weeks but that was about it. I don't feel I had any more aches and pains than my friends who don't have it.
