Isla is breastfed and I'm due to return to work in September. She will be 10 months old by then. between now and then I'll be leaving her with my parents and the Childminder.

Now, she won't take a bottle, and takes sips of water from a cup/beaker given by me. I'm giving her three good meals a day with pudding, snacks during the day such as fruit and biscuits.

Normally I give her boob inbetween meals, but I'm not always going to be around :( so how do I reduce or increase the gap between feeds??

I feed on demand so she's used to getting milk when she wants.

Thanks in advance
Emma

Can you try giving her expressed milk in a cup? Or try replacing her daytime feeds with snacks? X

I've been giving her cups of follow on milk, she does really well with cups but she doesn't get that it's a drink to quench her thirst. She went 4hrs between feeds today. I gave her biscotti and water. I'm hoping she will just decide one day that she doesn't want me and she wants her cup.

Thanks :) x

Zac dropped a lot of milk from 9 months, he is 10 months now and has 3 bottles a day, I don't think he would be bothered about his daytime bottle if I didn't give it to him. Hopefully she will drop some soon xxx

I found charley dropped his daytime bottles when I started offering more snacks. He has 3 bottles a day now, morning, mid-morning and bedtime. If he starts doing a hunger moan then I give him an extra snack x x

I think it's a comfort that she still wants milk from me. I share my food with her when I eat but she whinges and throws herself at my boob. fingers crossed the older she gets the less she wants me.

Thanks xx
