How do I get the smell of puke out of my couch?

As above. DD barfed up her entire dinner all over it last night. Tried cleaning it with vanish and some washing powder but it still reeks.

bicarbonate of soda solution (about a tablespoon with a pint) scrub it in and then just clean with plain water
