Hello lovely ladies (and gents)
I am new here and would love some advice.
I have PCOS and have recently had a period. How do I find out if I ovulated or not? I would love to know how to find out!
I am having a dermoid cyst removed in December then I am hoping to get fertility options checked out.
Would love to chat to like minded/ similar situation people!
love s-m x

Hi s_m and welcome to PF.

I'm also TTC with PCOS grrr. How long have you been TTC? There are lots of ways you can monitor ovulation. I personally monitor my CM (cervical mucus) and using OPK sticks. There are ladies who do other things too and I'm sure they'll be along soon with more support x

Hi Fairy! I am not TTC just yet as scheduled for surgery Dec 12th. I came off the pill last November and had some sorts of periods till march and then nothing till this month - I was so pleased! I want to figure out if I ovulated but I don't know how! I am hopeful that my periods and ovulation will start to be more regular but I am unsure. I am not overweight but do eat way too much sugar :O(
I might look for OPK kits.
Are you on metformin for PCOS? I hear it helps regulate periods??
thanks for your reply xxx

Good luck for your surgery. I'm not on metformin yet as GP won't refer me to a specialist until next May so I take supplements to try to regulate my cycles while I'm waiting for May. There are quite a few ladies with PCOS and who are on metformin on here though. My GP told me if your cycles are longer than 40 days than chances are you haven't ovulated. Not sure if that is the case but seems to be with me when I've monitored ovulation x

Thanks for you reply fairy.
I think I am going to try and see a gynaecologist when I gave my surgery and see if I can get my hormones level checked, my tubes checked and discuss metformin. Then I will feel more in control of next steps. What vitamins or supplements do you take to regulate your cycle?
Are you based in the UK? May is a long time to wait!

Thanks! Have a great day. S m x

That sounds like a good plan!

I currently take soy to help shorten cycles and EPO to help with CM. Yeah I'm based in the UK, my GP said she can't refer me until we've been trying for a year with no luck. X
