Hello,

This is all very new to me as its my first time and I have so many questions (like ever new mum I guess! :))

This pregnancy wasn't fully planned, it wasn't unexpected either - if that makes sense.

I've just moved so I have had to move doctors and I haven't been able to get an appointment until next Monday to see the nurse.
I have taken about 8 pregnancy tests (many regular and a clear blue digital which says 4/5 weeks) they all came back positive and Im 'late' so I figure they're all true.

Because im not able to see the doctor for a while and haven't got anyone to talk to about it apart from my partner (who knows less than me), Im nervous about things and would appricate any personal experience and help.

I've been reading up about early symptoms because I have been gettin period pain type symptoms (Im not taking any medication for them) which has been pretty much constant for the last 2 weeks but then there are times where i feel nothing like most of today - is that "normal"?
I've also been feeling sick, but haven't been sick apart from once today.
Should I be worried if I don't really have any cramps or symptoms in the last 24hours? Should I be pleased?

Ive been taking folic acid, I haven't had any alcohol in over a month, im eating wholemeal foods, fresh fruit and veg, etc...is there anything important im missing?

Also I have to carry lengths of fabrics around for work, nothing I would consider heavy, but what would be considered heavy lifting and is there anything else I should avoid?

As you might tell from this post, im nervous and worried as I know these first weeks are the most 'risky' and I have a lot of questions, if anyone could help I'd be so grateful!

Thanks! :)

Welcome to the forum paperwings :) Congrats on your happy news and first of all may I wish you a happy and healthy 9 months!

This is my first as well and I was extremely nervous when I found out that I was PG. You probably wont get to see a MW untill between 8-12 weeks, I think that's a general rule but it depends where you live. The pains that you're getting, as long as they're not unbearable and you're not having any bleeding then I'd say that it is all just your body stretching and preparing for bub to get bigger so I wouldn't worry too much there. Sounds like you're doing everything right with your diet, better than me that's for sure! :D

As for the heavy lifting, I'm not sure about that. I have been carrying stacks of crockery in my job and I have been fine. I've only been told to stop because I've got back problems due to baby. :)

Make your way over to the 1st trimester forum for more answers to any questions that you may have, some may already be answered! :D

xxxxx

Thank you! :)
I feel all over the place at the minute, and my mind keeps thinking the worse because I haven't been able to talk about it with anyone...until now.

welcome to the forum! congrats on ur pregnancy, not 100% sure about heavy lifting, but ive been avoiding anything that you feel a strain on when having to lift, anything that puts much effort in really- better to be safe than sorry before seeing the doc i guess?! xxxxx
