Had my sweep today & Induction Booked!..........................

and was unsuccessful

This MW i saw was fantastic explained things so well, reassured me, she was amazing.

Blood press & urine OK. She didnt measure my bump but did say, you know your going to have a small baby dont you? and i said yes but she reassured me that wont be worringly small just below average.

The sweep- Took off undies & lay on bed with a towel over me, she checked babys heartbeart, put on a glove & got on with it. Wasn't even uncomfortable but babys head was so low, she touched it but couldnt get to my womb opening, she kept trying nearly lost her arm in there

so in the end couldnt get to where she needed to be and said my cervix was not favourable and something about womb being prosterior i think. She tried for about 5 mins even got me to put my hands on my bump to try and tilt things for her --very odd hahah!!

Shes coming to see me again monday for another sweep and booked my induction for 16th October so time will tell

I was wondering how you'd got on. From what I have heard your cervix can become favourable quite quickly. So you may not need induction. Exciting though xx

glad your ok,im sure things will happen b4 the 16th 4u, as soon as they mention induction things usually happen lol,might be gettin induced myself in 2 weeks! had scan and still 2 small so if no improvement in 2 weeks thats the plan.xxx

Good to hear a positive midwife story for once! There are so many negative ones on here... My midwife is really nice, too, I was beginning to feel guilty for being the odd one out!

if it was my normal MW to be honest it would have been quite negative as she never explains things, and makes me feel like i should know everthing like ive been pregnant before etc@(shes on holiday for 2 weeks)

But this MW was so geniunely intrested and took time to read my notes throughly and to talk to me like a person and get to know what my pregnancy has been like etc she was quite old too and came acros very experienced but truly understood this is my first and explained absolutly every move perfectly completely thumbs up!

Thanks princess feel abit relieved thinking i can have a chilled weekend now, get a few extra hours sleep in aswell before things start! i just want baby to come when ready whenever that will be, just dont want inducing xxx

Hiya Marley,Think it can and up to 48hours after so the MW says, she said usually on the night after sweep women can get period pains and is quite common to have discharge and plug and start the process that way. Completely different to everyone but if its gonna do something think it happens relatively soon, TMI but even though mine was unsuccessful i still expected to wake up this morning or when i go to loo see something because of the messing around lol xxx
