He had a assesement at the clinic as were new to the area and me and mil took ds down to see the nursery nurse for it.
We were there quite a while and mil knew the NN so that made it all a bit weird!
LO is not doing as wellas i thought he was, she has referree him to a hearing specialist, a peadiatrician and speech therepy all in one go. Becasue his speech isnt much kop he hyas ti have all this done! I was nearly in tears hearing it all and I honestly feel a failure as a mother.

But he has school in a year and I dont want him to suffer, so i have agreed to the lot and only hope im doing the best thing for him.

Please don't worry, I went through the same with Paris when she was 4 1/2 - she couldb't pronouce the letter s and would say h instead. She also had her hearing tested. 3 years on and she's fine, he will be fine

chin up you are not a failure

aww hun, at least they doing soemthing for him and not leaving him, unlike cameron.. his speech still isnt great and they just said they gonna leave him alone...

I wanted him to see someone so he doesnt get bullied at school...

here have a hug!

Im just so shocked though, i mean as his mum and tommo feels the same, we feel he has improved loasds since coming down here to live with family and i know the NN cant see that but its still ujpsetting.
I guess i just want him to be the same as everyone else and not havwe to go through what i went through with learning difficulties.I think his may be related to mine.
But i odnt want him bullied at school and to go through what i did so im hoping he goes in these classes and grows by leaps and bounds.

The NN is doing a home visit on wednesday so im hoping he really comes out of his shell, and hubby will be there as well to support me.Hes vewry upset by it all and i hope he keeps his temper, cos it rages where stephen is concerned.

my ds had a speech delay - communicated very little and was unclear in almost everything he said until he was about 3.5 - there were other questions raised re his development etc etc - i used to get very upset and defensive but i have leaned not to take it personally - there are loads of games/activities you can do to help - i bought him a post office box from ELC and got cards of objects - some bought ELC and some cut from catalogues - i concentrated on 1 sound at a time and he had to say the word - he was a bit hyper as well so then once he said the word i let him be the postman - i let him run into the kitchen to post the card lol - pm me if i can help at all but seriously do not take this personally and do not map out his development/life opportuinties and achivements based on one tiny hiccup

My half-brother is going to school in September and having problems with his speech but my dad and his girlfriend are too proud to get any help.

 Hugs though, I can imagine it must be tough for you both
