Early Pregnancy

Hi, My name is Louise,
Hoping somebody can help me as I am very worried and a bit sad.. I did a pregnancy test (clear blue digital on Sat ) and it said pregnant 1-2 and did a first response and good clear line. I went to my doctor on wed this week and she said faint line and a little blood in my urine but she wasnt concerned about the blood but said for me to come back tomorrow as if the hcg levels were not up she was doing bloods, and didnt want to tell me something positive until she tested me again tomorrow.
Do you think she is talking about a chemical pregnancy.. I am so stressed about it.. i am 40 and its my first time conceiving.. i did a test this morning (first response and got a positive but the line was not as dark as original.
I am not bleeding but of course any pain i am panicking..
Any advice would be greatly appreciated..

How many DPO are you? If it's too early the results will be feint.

Also, if your doctor tested later in the day that will make the result fainter too xx

Could the doctors tests be less sensitive so will therefore look fainter? Fingers crossed for you x

I am 4 weeks 5 days according to my doctor. went again this morning with a morning sample.. she did a test it was very faint to begin with and then it got much clearer. she said the fact it took about 3/4 mins for the line to become clearer was a worry.. she did blood tests to check my hcg levels and will let me know later.. she said prepare for the worst and the pregnancy may not be developing the way it should be..

Anyone else been in the same boat..?

Did you track ovulation? My tests were fainter than expected at 4-5 weeks but I think I ovulated later in my cycle. I've got some tests to compare...il try n find them on my phone x

This one was the day after my period was due...first urine of the day...

Then this one was was the next day

But it dried like this

Then when I was 4 weeks n 6 days I got this in the afternoon

But then 3 days later at the same time of day I got this

Hope that gives you some reassurance xx

Thank you for the pics.. My own home tests the line comes up immediately but with the doctor its the fact it comes up faint on hers and then after a few minutes you can see it clearly.. hopefully the bloods will give some answers and not a miscarriage impending..

It could be that the doctors tests aren't as sensitive x fx that your bloods come back good xx

With my first I didn't even get a positive until 16dpo!
If you're having some pain, that's a good sign that there is something growing in there! Slight tugging pain and a little discomfort is normal and a good sign at this point.

Despite the doctor's concerns, I think it's best to remain positive. It's good for your physical health as well as mental to be positive good luck

Doctor just came back my initial blood tests hcg level was 515 and my test on Monday was 860, she said it hadn't doubled but had risen. .need to get another blood test tomorrow and she wants me to get an early pregnancy scan end of the week... is anybody familiar with hcg levels..

Im slightly optimistic now having feared the worst, but know i am not out of the woods..

I'm not familiar with them as such, but I've found this table for you. Also, I remember someone being told on here when I was pg with my first that their HCG wasn't doubling, but because it was increasing it was ok (and she had a totally normal pregnancy!). Good luck xx
