May sound a silly/ ignorant question but Emms seems a bit prone to ear infections. I asked the Dr yesterday if I can do anything to prevent them and he just said to monitor the ears to check if there are any changes/ discharge but not any suggestions of things that might stop her getting them in the 1st place. As there are v experienced mums out there - can I do anything? Apart from keeping her away from people with colds/ infections I'm not sure what else to do. Any herbal/ alternative suggestions? :D

I'd say common sense things really like always using clean ear buds and only gently wiping the outer part and not putting the bud too far inside, making sure her bedding is always clean and dry and maybe watch which shampoo you use, if any, on her hair/head when you bath her.

I just think though that some kids are prone to certain things. At play centre there seem's to be some children that always seem to have a snotty nose for example.

:)

What Lou says. I had recurrent ear infections (and perforated eardrums) when I was little. I think some kids are just prone to it. There was nothing my mum could have done to prevent it - I ended up having my tonsils and adenoids out when I was 7 and that was what helped most though I still end up with ear problems more than most other folk I know even today.
