I have a friend who is determined to arrange meet ups once a month on a sunday for sunday dinner and take it in turns on cooking. This is a bit of a problem as i cant stand her cooking :? I have suggested we meet up and have lunch at a pub but she says she is ok to do that if it is to much for me to cook but she would still rather cook when it comes to her turn.

I dont know what to say next to try and get out of it and not hurt her feelings by telling her i dont like her cooking.

What would you do?

If it was one of my friends id tell them. Im very blunt and honest... so they keep telling me  So if I had a problem id say to them.

But a pub lunch sounds like a great plan, maybe insist on that? Tell her it would be good to catch up and not have to cook etc. Plus it gets you both out of the house

I usually speak my mind but she does take things to literally most of the time and blows things out of proportion.

I did tell her i thought the pub lunch was a much better idea but she insisted she cook :? I really dont think there is much chance of getting out of this one..

Ooh unless......... When the time comes i should have told her i am pregnant so i could tell her that it depends on the food i fancy at the time, which is true anyway i guess.

Ah ha!!

Personally I would eat it and not hurt her feelings, it's only once a month.

Is it THAT bad? What's the matter with it?

Its really bland, usually cold and undercooked.

What about offering to help with the cooking?

She doesnt like people in her kitchen. Seriously she is that difficult.

Do you really like her? Is she a nice person aside from the cooking. Then I would go with it and just eat as much(or little) as you can.
Its only once every 2 months, just spare a thought for my oh, he has to eat my food every night.

Yeah i like her, she is a lovely person.

I guess your right, maybe i should just try and eat at least a little bit.

Haha u can just say that the pregnancy is makin u feel a bit iffy n u dnt think u can eat much lolzzz

Yeah im with the im suffering from morning sickness thing and tell yer to open you a can of soup or toasted cheese ir summit LOL XkelX

you could say it looks delicious, then have a mouthful, and say you just going to pop it in the microwave for a couple of minutes - that wouldnt offend me if i'd cooked it, and it might make it better tasting for you?

Good point that! You could also that as your pregnant you need everything really well cooked to kill off any bugs - threaten to get a bit "graphic" if she looks offended :D
