I have. I had an emergency c section last time (after 3 natural deliveries) , and it was literally life or death I had placenta abruption and baby had lost a lot of oxygen and was so close to not being here and I was heamorraging badly. Scares the life out of me now! I was offered a planned c section at 39 weeks by my consultant, so I would ask again? I've actually opted for VBAC, and they've also reassured me I'll be heavily monitored and having scans from 28 weeks. We haven't set anything in stone and might have the section yet. I find it strange they haven't offered it, going by your traumatic time last time, I would mention it to your midwife and stress your wishes to her. I'm sure a planned c section will be an option for you. Easier said than done but try not to get too worked up and anxious , have plenty of time to sort it all out :) x x

I had a terrible first labour resulting in a forceps delivery and lots of damage. I had a planned C section last time as my son was diagnosed breech at 40 weeks. I'm opting for a section again this time - I haven't seen the consultant yet but my mind is made up and they can't force you to have a vbac due to the slightly higher risks. I found the planned section so much better than my first labour and recovered so much easier too. There's no way I'd risk a labour like my first. They shouldn't be pressurising you - if you are not happy I'd ask for another appointment so you can discuss further X

I had a planned c section last time as daughter was breech. Got sepsis afterwards and was really poorly with having to have my stomach reopened and tissue removed. Have got my consultant appointment at the end of September but I'll be telling them I'm having another section, no one can force you into trying for a vbac, if you want another section just tell them that that's what you would feel more comfortable having. x

I had an emergency c-sec with my daughter, I was stuck at 5cm for over 12 hours, failed epidural, meconium in my waters. It turned out she was back to back and had her head stuck, then I had a PPH and needed a blood transfusion.

This time it has been entirely my choice whether to have elective c-sec or try VBAC. My community midwife has asked me several times and each time I've said I can't decide. I had an appointment with consultant, who would have booked me a c-sec if I'd wanted it, but because I said I wasn't sure, she referred me on to the VBAC clinic. They've helped me decide to try VBAC and have put in my notes that I'd like to use birthing pool with wireless monitoring.

They've been really helpful, and like I said, it's been entirely my choice.

I had an awful time with my first too! His head got stuck in my cervix and dilation slammed to a halt at 2-3cm, I was in labour for 32 hours and it ended in an emergency c section due to his heart rate being so up and down!, I have my consultant appointment in December, And I'm having another c section this time too as it really scared me last time, I really thought my son was going to die! :( my midwife did tell me that it'd be completely my choice this time around and that they can't make me have a vaginal birth if I'm not comfortable with the idea (which I'm not) :)

I had an emcs with my first due to numerous problems. This time, I was given a leaflet on VBAC and a run down of the pros and risks at 19 weeks. Decided to opt for a planned section, but a colleague of mine had been under the same consultant got her pregnancy and told me that they really push vbac. I went in prepared to be quite firm and was really surprised when the doctor just said 'ok, I'll book you in'

At the end of the day, it is your choice.

You'll need to see the consultant rather than the midwife, have you got another appt arranged? You should do if you haven't agreed to it. I'd just be very firm and say you've thought about it but want another section - it's your choice they can't force you to have a vbac X
