Day 3 Bloods - Can anyone help with results please?

Hi all,

I've just recently started my fertility assessment. Today I had day 3 bloods, I'm booked in for day 21 (or day 20 in my case), and I've been referred for a pelvic ultrasound scan.

I'll be getting the day 3 blood test results back on Thursday or Friday and am wondering if anyone knows what's "normal" for these results? My GP said they will be testing FSH, LH and Estradiol. This is all new to me, so any information would be helpful.

My doctor didn’t actually explain them to me, but just said they came back normal!

Ask for a print out. It will show the normal reference ranges And will have your results on it too. No need to see the doctor to get the print out, the receptionists should be able to do it.
I wouldn't trust the GPs knowledge on fertility, it's such a complex subject and it's not their speciality. I had a GP tell me my FSH was normal, when it wasn't which indicated low egg reserve. If I had listened to her, I would have missed my chance at having my baby. Luckily, I had asked for print outs of everything and took them to my fertility consultant.

Hi, thanks for your replies. Lisey, I got a print out today of the results and you were right about GPs lack of knowledge, as he wasn't really able to explain the results to me. I made another post on the forum with my results to see if anyone could help me understand them. Oh I'm glad you didn't miss your chance! Congratulations �� Thanks again for the replies x
