Hi

Ever since my heavy bleed I have not stopped worrying and googling...

Now I am terrified of having a MMC! My brown spotting is worse today and every twinge, cramp backache I worry about them being a bad sign even though I have had them all the way through...

Everything I google seems to include people who have had MMC and even though I have also read that seeing a heartbeat at 8 weeks lowers your risk of mc I still can't relax! I should be over the moon and jumping for joy instead I am just so scared of losing baby dale as it's just so precious to us!

I have gone through so much heartache to get here that I am petrified of something snatching it away from us!

I am so desperate with worry I have booked another scan for this Saturday and I just can't wait to get to 12 weeks.

I just needed to get this off my chest as its really getting to me...

Did anyone else struggle this much in the run up to 12 weeks?

Lou x

I am this time and I'm only 5 weeks tomorrow :(

Every evening I'm getting back ache and my whole pelvic area feels weird. I can't decide whether it's just back & hips aching, or pain from trapped wind, or pain because I'm going to start bleeding.
Though so far there has been no blood.

But my last pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 6/7 weeks and that was in 2009! The pregnancy before that which resulted in my youngest daughter was over 9 years go now so I can't remember a thing about it. I know I had some cramping but I can't remember it being like this, and the m/c just makes me really paranoid.

I felt just like that at 5 weeks, I had backache and weird pains/feelings in hips and down legs, it sounds really normal and good that everything is doing what it should :) I still get backache and period type pains now and it still unnerves me!! Xx

Oh Lou, it must be so hard to calm yourself down after an actual bleed. I've had brown spotting for the last two weeks, and spent way too much time looking up the worst on the internet, worrying myself even more. And now baby was too small for the NT scan at the dating scan, so I'm worried about having to go back in for that and all the things that could go wrong - instead of being happy that baby is alive and kicking!

Sometimes I wonder if it's the hormones, or if pregnancy just brings out all the anxiety that's in us. Don't really have any help to offer how to push the negative thoughts away...just thought I'd let you know you're not alone.

Yes I really struggled - it's so hard when it's taken a long time to conceive and although I didn't have any bleeding if had 2 losses before so worried constantly that something would go wrong. I had 3 scans before my dating scan (1 was at 6 weeks on the NHS as it was ivf but I paid for 2 privately). Sorry I know this is probably no help but I wanted to let you know that I was a terrible worrier all throughout my pregnancy and my baby is fine and healthy xx

Im the same an ive had no bleeding but with having the mmc i worried before every appt up until 20weeks an that was my turning point tho i still have the odd wobble which i dont think will ever go away until baby is here xx

I know it's easier said than done but worrying will only make things seem worse, and STOP googling!!! My OH went made at me for googling symptoms! At least with another scan you should feel at rest, I was anxious yest when I had my 12 weeks scan but everything was absolutely fine. Hope tour scan goes well tho!xx

Hey loubalouba, I had a mmc with my 1st pregnancy and was naive about the constant spotting I got as the doctor told me it was fine as I wasn't in pain and it wasn't heavy. Unfortunately a scan at 11wks showed just a yolk sac and estimated at 5.5wks.

I think having spotting is a worry but seeing a heartbeat does dramatically reduce the risks as most mmc don't develop past 6 wks.

That said my pregnancy after that I had a private scan at 7wks, epu at 8wks for bleeding, another private scan at 11wks as was petrified about being at the stage I found out about the mmc and then my dating scan at 13wks. I don't think the worry gets any less with future pregnancies either.

Good luck for you scan on Saturday, thinking of you xx

Thank you ladies x it's good to know I am not alone with constant worries and others have paid for extra scans too for peace of mind. I have my first midwife appointment tomorrow so hoping she might put me at ease a bit too!

Just can't wait for Saturday! I also wonder if it's my hormones as feel tearful at the moment and just up and down!

I just keep looking at my scan pic from 8 weeks 4 days and remembering the sound of the heartbeat xx

please try not to worry. I know it is so hard. but worrying will drive you mad. I have never had a MC so I cannot really give advice but I have had some spotting this pregnancy which I didn't have with the first. i'm worried because now that the sickness has gone I don't feel pregnant anymore which is making me think there is something wrong but i'm just taking every day as it comes. my scan is not until 23rd of this month. try not to think about it. i'm sure everything is fine. just tell yourself all is fine and try to enjoy it. :hugs:

I had a lot of bleeding last time and it's vey hard to calm yourself down. I was constantly worried, constantly on knicker watch. Even during the birth I was anxious.

It's hard time but you will get through it and I'm sure everything will be fine.
