Have just received our Emmaljunga pram which included a carrycot. Apparently due to a new EU safety ruling, any new carrycots that are manufactured cannot be supplied with carry cot handles/straps. As the models on the shop floor were made prior to the ruling, those carrycots had carry straps on them. The shop that sold us the pram only become aware of this ruling after they spoke to the manufacture when I rang up yesterday to ask why the carrycot had no carry straps on it. It affects all makes of prams, not just emmaljunga.
If you are thinking about buying a pram with a carrycot bear it in mind when you order your pram. Had we known 10 weeks ago when we ordered the pram, we would have shopped around to get a shop floor model that had straps still attached. It now means that we have a lovely carrycot/pram that without a baby in it is going to be very cumbersome to carry up and down stairs and in and out of the car.
