HI All

I hope a/ I am posting in the right place and b/ I am allowed to ask this question but does anyone have AOL? I am with another provider and my access is so intermittent I am considering swapping. :wall: It literally cuts out half way through! Drives me mad!!!! :x and I cant chat likethe old days, I am getting forum withdrawals! :rotfl:

I need a wireless router included in the deal cos I am a bit of a technophobe

Anyone got any feedback??

Im sorry I have no idea about AOL.. but whilst we're on the subject..

My husband got a free laptop with a free mobile phone thru the internet when he signed up for a contract with Orange £30 a month..I would post the link for the site.. but dunno if Im allowed too. :) The phone and the laptop are good ones too.

Don't touch AOL with a bargepole. Please. Really.

It is really an awful internet service provider and locks you in to having to use their own browser (which is crap) and has all kinds of supposed 'features' that are total pants and not needed.

AOL does not have a great rating. Just because its giving something away isn't making it a good deal.

We use Demon. £18 unlimited and they don't tie you in to anything other than the broadband. No icky browser, no icky nothing. Great uptime, 6MB per second, sometimes 8. No cap on how much we download. Been with them over 3 years now and would not change.

AOL is the evil of the internet. I don't know anyone who has much good to say about it. Our neighbour could not get online for days recently and had to get my hubby over to sort out his internet. His provider... AOL. He told us it was slow, kept cutting out and was generally annoying for his family to use. Other people I know who use it don't have much better to say.

I used to have AOL and I found it a bit rubbish but now I'm with BT it's even worse. I don't seem to have much luck with broadband

I know the free laptop is tempting cos I was gonna get one last time the offer was on, but look into it and ask lots of questions before deciding :)

hmm interesting

I hate contracts which is why I have not dived straight in!

I have orange - prev wannadoo and as I said before it permanently cuts out drives me MAD

Completely agree with Sherlock, AOL are terrible!

The laptop they give away is probably the most basic model, you'd probably be better buying carefully second hand.

we have got tiscali, its been fab, 17 a month and we get broadband, line rental and free phone calls,

and the net is quick, we have xbox live and 2 pcs running off the wireless and no problems at all

hi there i am going to have to disagree with some of you about aol, as i have been with aol for 9 years and it is brill, tried others and did not like them. The good thing with aol is you can also other servers like tiscalli, orange etc. My farther inlaw had the laptop offer the other day and the lap top is quite a good one. you also never lose connection.

hope this helpsxx

my parents have aol, their internet works fine, i just dont like the aol userface thing... i miss IE

are u talking about internet explorer when u say IE, cause u can use aol as a server and open up IE and use that.
