I am soooo tired, I just can't believe how exhausted I am now after nearly 4 months of bf! Fin is really draining me with feeding so often through the day and night, still every 2 hours or so.
He feeds about 5-6 times at bedtime at the minute and it takes an hour and a half to get him to sleep! I don't know if this growth spurt is still happening but I don't know how much longer I can get through what are now really low days! I feel so run down.
Even worse is the fact that he won't take a bottle still so I cant even express to help.Sorry ladies, I just needed to get it out of my system.
Is anyone else experiencing nights like this ?

YES ME!!!!!

Rachael is up a lot at night breastfeeding!!! its so frustrating as im sure its the comfort not he hunger. I can't express and she won't take a bottle anyway :x

Can you get your head down in the day with Fin in bed maybe? sometimes when ive takene bethany to nursery i try and go to bed for an hour with rachael as she usually chils out and sleeps in bed and i can at least realx if i can't sleep.

Mermaid have you started him on solids yet? If you haven't try it. he may be hungry for proper food. Try him at first with some plain rice mixed with cooled boiled water. Try him with it at a time when you are relaxed and so is he. maybe mid feed??? whatever you find best.

Have you tried fin with a dummy mermaid? This may sooth him as he may be using you as a dummy. You might have to try a few before he takes to one but i would try.

Theres nothing i can say more but be assured you're doing the best for fin by breastfeeding him on demand. Just try and rest as much as you can and eat and drink plenty.

I don't really have any practical advice because I was never an expert breast feeder, I just struggled through. Just wanted to give you a  and say you're doing a FANTASTIC job!

Well done, I hope you start to feel better soon.

Ditto everything Budge says, Olivia is the same :D

I would try some rice tho hun, I did at 3 months and after a week or so she did have longer between feeds :D

Emma was exactly the same, she wouldn't take a bottle or a dummy and would only feed from me, it was a long time before she would go for more than two or three hours without a feed, I know how exhausting it is. As the others have said rest as much as you can and drink plenty of fluids. You are doing a fantastic job and are giving him the very best start.

Oh yeh Oli wont take a dummy either or a bottle

She just wants boob, so she shall have :cheer:

Yes your doing a fantastic job hun, keep it up and resy when you can  I do what Budge does too, during the day about 1ish I go up to bed lie her next to me, she feeds and falls asleep and so do i for a good hour or more :)

I feel for you I really do! Brody is feeding every couple of hours too and more often in the evening. He won't take a bottle or dummy either and it takes a couple of hours to get him to sleep at night too. But I am lucky as he stays asleep for 4-7 hours once he does go! It must be exhausting for you!
Like the others have said, just try to rest whenever you can even if it's just 10 minutes here and there!
You are doing brilliantly hun and I hope you get a little bit of rest and feel better soon!

I am so glad you posted this as I am feeling exactly the same! I almost feel like I have the flu I am that tired. I think Logan is going through a growth spurt as he is now feeding every 1-2 hrs even at night and he is also having 2 meals a day....

I am going to up that to 3 and se how we get on.

I am glad that I have carried on but it is such hard work!

Thankyou so much for your help everyone. I only just managed to get on here this morning. It seems as though I am not the only one havin a tough time, though it feels like it lol!

I haven't tried solids yet as I was afraid to, he can't support himself yet and I keep being told 6 months!. I didn't realise just how many of you are already giving solids and doing well with it! Fin won't take a dummy either so that isn't a possibility, but maybe for the best anyway.

The past couple of nights have calmed down slightly again so I am judging this is a growth spurt and hopefully things will sort themselves out. Anyway, have just got a weaning book so I am going to start looking at that and preparing. :D

C thats the really annoying thing about HVs they scare you into doing something that isnt nessisarly right for your child its so wrong :x

You do what you feel is best hunny, and dont be frightend if you give him abit of rice if you feel that is what will help.

 Take care hunny
