Does anyone know what benefits im entitled to? with me being under 18 an all.
Thanks

You can go to your neighbourhood office (run by the council) for a benefits check, they can come up with things you never really thought about before :)

Because they are not run by the DSS they are motivated by helping you, rather than by saving themselves money :)

Some people go to Citizens Advice Bureau too.

Benefits can be difficult being under 18, I have been in a few situations in my life , such as that one, where I've been told I was not entitled to any benefits, but usually with better advice I would have got some :) For instance claim for any health problems you have, and you might get Income Support :)

I rung up local job centre an the lady who deals with claims for under 18's is in a interveiw an she'll call me back, i suppose i'll ask her what am entitled to an what can i get etc.

I work in housing benefits and I know there is such a thing as a 'take up officer' who makes sure that people are on the right benefits. I would think your local authority would have one too.

Or ask in the citizens advice. Just because you are younger doesnt mean you should be treated with any less care.

Yes I would ask someone independent of the job centre, the job centre are there to keep their budget down at the end of the day and won't always encourage people to claim what they're entitled to (but maybe I'm cynical :) )

yes, I know what you mean. I think the onus was on our person to get as many people as possible onto the state benefits they were entitled too. The were on the council payroll. Its a sad state of affairs when people dont give info to keep bugets down.
