Hi Girls

I posted on here a few months back about this possibility and it looks like it will happen.

Baby is due 4th March. I am married, husband works full time, we have no other children.

Would anyone know what I would be entitled to claim?
I am being made redundant just about a month before when I would qualify for SMP with employer (just said a rude word!!!!!!)
ANyway, am I right in thinking I can get JSA and maternity pay and tax credits or are their restrictions?

All replies would be gratefully received

I wouldnt of thought you would get JSA because you wont be looking for work, you should get Maternity allowance, poss child and working tax credit and child benefit.

Who do you work for??

If you are looking for a jo you'd get JSA. When you choose to stop looking for a job to go on maternity leave, or if/when you find a job and you want to go on maternity leave you will be entitled to MA assuming you have worked for 26 weeks in the last 3 years.

Everyone is entitled to child benefit.

Tax credits are based on houshold income for the tax year.

i think it will all depend on your husbands earnings try ringing the benifits helpline 0845 608 6000 they should be able to tell you
