It was my birthday yesterday and i was in such a happy mood.

then DH picked me up from work and told me that my son's (joshua 5) best mate has been diagnosed with Meningitis. He went to doctors last week with a temperature only to be sent home. They then took him to the hospital to be told to look out for chickenpox, given antibiotics and sent home, this was on friday. Then on sunday, they couldnt wake him and he was all floppy. they took him to hospital for him to be transferred to another hospital in London. They dont know if he is brain damaged or paralysed down one side. He has pulled out his tubes on Monday but other than that he is unconscious.

we are all saying prayers for him. he is only 4 years old, not five for a few weeks..

xx

poor little mite, I will light a candle for him tonight which is my version of praying, and hope that he pulls through.

have just spoken to DH and he has inflammation on the brain. they think that it could be tonsilitis that has been left ??? but they also did a lumbar punch yesterday as they cant rule out meninigitis. He woke briefly yesterday and smiled at his mum, then went back out of it.

they are hoping to get the lumbar punch results today and they wont really know much until he comes round.

thanks for your good wishes, and we have lit a candle too.

I hope everything going to be ok for poor little boy

Thoughts with the family and friends

Poor boy :( :( :( I hope he's better soon. It's scary how it can be misdiagnosed by doctors. It's not the first time someone's been sent home when they're seriously ill :(
