sorry iv just come back from an ante natal apointment and the midwife told me his head is engaged, what does this mean? does this mean hes going to come early?

I don't think it is a sign of labour - the head can disengage just as easily. Probably just practicing for when the time comes. Try not to worry.

It means the head is down in the birth position. It doesnt mean bubs will come early dont worry :)

I had this written on my notes from about 30 weeks last time. I was also worried it meant he was on his way early! :)

It's a good sign though, shows LO is in the right position, and popping in and out of your cervix getting ready :D

i think first babies engage early on. i'm so jealous- mine hasnt even got her head down!

Hi

Yes first pregnancies babies tend to engage early ive heard your 2nd plus might not engage till right before labour begins.
Most likely wont mean Lo is on its way quite yet :)
