Is it normal that I've completely lost my appetite after birth?

I can't motivate myself to eat anything, I don't crave the taste of anything. I'm kind of forcing myself to eat because I know my milk won't be good if I don't eat and drink enough.

Is it because my stomach's smaller from being pregnant? I wasn't ever massive when pregnant.

If i remember rightly my appetite wasnt that good after having Calleigh.
I ate well immediately after birth but not so much when i got home.
But it did get better :)

yes hun totally normal. I had this BAD after birth. I was freaking out about it and even went to the doc about it where he reassured me it was normal. Id force food in my mouth but just couldnt bring myself to eat it. Your appetite will return in a few days. Drink plenty of fluids. I took a multi vitamin and drank a load of Lucozade while I waited. I think its something to do with the hormones

Thanks girls, DH was worrying, and was in despair when we went food shopping! He then makes me worry!

i had the opposite , i hadnt eaten in pregnancy , i then spent a month on hossy food , when i got out i couldnt stop eating  hence gainging 2 stone since having hime !

i was exactly the same nicky, mines came back after just over a month, i hated it because i LOVE food sooo much

I havent got mine back yet, infact after i had lyla they gave me a cheese butty and a cup of tea and i ended up spewing it back up :puke: i find now when i eat halfway through i feel ill, so im only eating half my meals, i think its just hormones myself... or my body saying 'enough is enough lard arse your not eating anymore shite' :rotfl:

I'm the same, at first I thought it was because of the four days of hospital food but I just didn't fancy anything treat wise either. Now that I am home I have been doing the same although I know I need to eat for boob milk purposes but I really just don't hunger for anything.

My stomach appears to have shrunk so much also. After eating I often get stomach pains from stuffing myself even though I have only had a small amount. I keep having to ask OH to serve up smaller portions. The weird thing is, in the last month of pregnancy, I ate like a horse and just assumed that would continue.

I put it down to feeling a bit weird about having someone's hands in my womb, rummaging about down there but it is probably just a reaction to having given birth in general. I think in some ways the shock of actually having had a baby can be quite traumatic. I know the fact that you spend 9 months being pregnant is kinda a clue that you will give birth but I still feel quite blown away by the whole thing!

I lived of build up milkshakes for just over a month. Everything else made me very sick.
