I quite like the look of this and was wondering if anyone has one and could tell me what it's like.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hey,

I have one in Polka. I love it...

...to look at. That's about it!

Oooooh its a pain and I'm DYING for a new lightweight stroller! Actually, it was fine in pram mode, I really liked it - but £300 is a lot of money for 6 months use. In pushchair mode, I don't like it so much, its bulky, you don't have the parent facing option when they are still babies, it feels 'plasticy' to push, etc etc.

The bulky thing is the thing that bugs me the most - it says its not (and I believed the hype) but it takes up a whole boot of my fairly big boot Ford Focus and is heavy to get in and out. We also get public transport often and its near impossible to do the one handed fold they advertise and its really heavy and bulky to carry on and off the bus if the wheelchair/buggy spaces aren't free.

I do like the car seat and it goes to 13kg (rather than 9kg) but it is a very heavy carseat to carry in and out of the house.

If I had my time again, I wouldn't buy it - I didn't really think about what I'd need to use it for and folding, wheel types (I have a cheap off road 3 wheeler that I take round the local farm tracks - this is even bigger and bulkier but that's okay as I'm not folding and unfolding it all the time to take it in and out of the car or on and off buses/trains), parent facing options, how big the shopping basket is or isn't etc etc - I just fell in love with one which I now think was a bit impractical for us and takes up lots of room to store it!

I hope that's useful and not not what you wanted to hear!

if u really want the "pliko" style, they have just released the reversible version. :) hope this helps..

i love my pliko p3 buuuuuuuuuuuuutttttttttttttttttttttttt im gutted it doesnt parent face ! for a travel system its one of the lightest buggies out there at 9kg and i find it nice and smooth to push around , i got a carrycot with it but its not the pramette its there combination set . (cheaper!) , the car seat is nice and sturdy for lil one but fairly upright and bloooming heavy !

tbh , i got it at a fab price as i didnt buy brand new but if i had my time again , i prob wouldnt buy it again  i do love it but i think there might be something out there i could easily love more :rotfl:

I have it in city scape, and although its a very very good pram, i dont know whether i'd buy it again, it is very big and bulky and does take up alot of boot space, more than we thought, it doesnt have the paren facing option, and the car seat is really really heavy to carry around, i struggle as i am only small

Mmmmmmmmm, not quite what I expected!! I was interested in it as it is advertised as compact and lightweight but it's obviously not as good as it says. I don't want a big bulky pram so would appreciate any recommended alternatives.

have you considered the bebe confort streety, lozzi posted about it a bit ago it looks fab or a bugaboo bee very pricey but gorgeous to look at and seems practical with regards to shopping for car/ bus etc

it is much lighter then most prams and less bulkier then things like graco or britax etc i havent a prob with the weight or bulkiness just it doesnt parent face

I have one. I love it, it might seem bulky but it's comfortable for LO when they are in there. I have a seperate one for the car though and don't need to get it on the bus or what ever. It is quite a pest to fold (doesn't fold that small) but it is lighter and less chunky etc than a lot of prams out there. It's got adjustable handle lengths for taller mummies, and you can get a heck of a lot of shopping underneath it too. I'd say if you were mainly walking with it then go for it, if you an on/off the bus type of gal then possibly re-consider or get a cheap mclaren or something to use for bus trips or what ever....mind you they are not suited to newborns. As a pram I loved it even more but LO wanted in the seat sooner rather than later since he was sitting up early on etc. Will be selling mine come September time, hope I can make a bit of the £300 back esp since we paid an extra £80 for the matching accessory pack, i.e. parasol etc.

Yup what Valentine said - DITTO EVERY STATEMENT!

Get something else!

I have a p3 and I love it - have no problems with it so far.

Like Gem I'm gutted it doesn't face me in the pushchair mode but he's not in it yet

I have a Pliko P3 and I can't fault it.

It weighs 11kg so not bad, it fit in the boot of my previous car (Rover 200) no problem and I have no issues with folding it or carrying it or pushing it.

Lucy is now nearly 3 and although we haven't used it much recently it definitely lasted more than 6 months for us. We used regularly up till 6 months ago.

Oh and its really manoeuvrable too!

The best thing to do is go to a shop that sells them and try it out, push it round some tight spaces, fold it, pick it up etc. then you'll have an idea of whether its for you or not.

i ahve a miniature toddler tho who's outgrown the dam carrycot already  and now i dunno whether to sell the lot and get something else as im stuggling with the car seat too , dam these biffa babies !

We have one and I liked it when Stanley was small.

I don't drive and it feels nice and chunky for walking miles. It's really bulky though as others have said and doesn't fold up nice and neat like others. It doesn't fit into smaller cars. Plus I never found it that easy to work out all the different positions and what zipped/clicked into where.

We've switched to a stroller now for ease. The Pramette 'did' for Stanley but I'll be wanting a new pram next time round

Yeah it doesnt feel to bad.....till you go and check out an 8 or 9kger - when i picked up the MaClaren stroler at 7kg I nearly through it through the ceilling after having the P3 lol

I dont think it is al all, If it was raining and I was trying to push it and have an umbrella it was ok in a straight line to go one handed but when it came to corners I had to bend down and use my elbow for extra leverage! Again the Maclaren I can go round and round one handed no problems!

I think prams are each to their own really, the best thing, as someone suggested is to go in to a store and push/test/fold/open etc a number of prams and get the feel for which one is for you type thing. I like my P3 and consider my Mclaren my cheap old lives in the car boot type of pram for when I'm just nipping somewhere and either didn't think to bring the pram or didn't want to bother folding the other one etc, personally I don't like the Mclaren one for DS if I know he's going to be in it longer than a few minutes as it just doesn't seem comfortable but reading this others love the Mclaren and hate the P3 and from my NCT group they all loved the Quinny Buzz and I totally hated that one so really best advice, to go Mothercare, M&P etc and try them out, push them round the store and fold/collapse them and consider your boot space, the P3 really is pointless if you drive a mini but it's perfectly fine in an estate or 4x4 type thing. Depends on what you want and where it's going to be used, what needs you have from it and so forth. Go on a pram testing day, so much fun!!

Thanks for all your replies girls. I will have to go on a testing day!

Well the MaClaren stroller doesn't do the same as a P3 so it isn't a fair comparison. The more features you go for, the more its going to weigh. I don't like strollers personally as I think there's nothing to them and prefer prams that are more like a pram but can still be a buggy!

Well I would never try and use an umbrella and a pram/pushchair! But again, it comes down to how often/where/how you want to use your pram.

That's really why you absolutely have to go do trials in the shops, even if you buy off the net, a test-drive is a must!

As Nicola says, a pram/pushchair is a very indivisual thing and what might suit one person would be wrong for another. If you're going to use it on a bus then you'll have different requirements to if you'll be using a car etc.

Prams are like cars and what one person loves another can't stand so decide what you want from your pram and then go find something that fits best. And test it out in the shop!!!
