I'm sick of being skint most of the time, not enough money left over for luxuries etc and I saw an advert for 'drivers needed' in my local Papa John and has made me wonder if I should do it? I could do a few evenings a week and it would be temporary as I'm at college training to be a teaching assistant.
I'm just worried about if I'd get lost and also knocking on strange doors late at night -
Has anyone here ever done this kind of work or know anyone who does, was it enjoyable and did anything bad ever happen and would u reccommend it as a way to make some extra £££?

My ex used to own a chinese so I'd often help out delivering. You generally get a set hourly rate and you keep any tips. Depends on tips how much extra you receive as the set rate makes it not really worth it. Never had any hassle BUT it CAN and DOES happen especially late on the weekends when people are p1ssed up. Depends on the areas you deliver to as I wouldnt have gone to some of the rougher ones nor would i go in high rise and any decent boss wouldnt send a lone female either.

Yeh good point, we have a couple of high rises and some rough estates round here - I suppose I could keep one of those rape alarms in my pocket or buy some spray (can u buy spray??? )
hmmm don't know what to do - I want money!!!

Lots of the larger retailers like M&S, Sainsburys etc take on more staff for Christmas. They normally pay ok, and often have other perks like store discounts etc.

I'd much prefer this to driving round in the cold and wet!

I already work for a High St store on Sundays and doing Saturdays over xmas and when I can get extra hrs in the week while kids at school and I'm tired of giving up my weekends now so the thought of doing evenings is quite appealing, maybe quit my sunday job and get weekend time with family back - i miss it so much, and I do enjoy driving. Also the thought of being out and about is appealing instead of stuck in one spot for hours. I could play music too while I drive round, it's just plucking up the courage to do it and also the thought of our nearby rough estate late at night

Would you be driving their vehicle or yours? If its yours youve got to have class 1 business usage otherwise you wouldnt be covered if anything happended to your car or if you got stopped by the police and they could tell you were delivering for a shop, they would check this out

xx
