Anyone bought a hand/foot casting kit?

Hi I have been thinking about buying one of these but am not sure if it will be a waste of money. I was wandering if anyone has bought one and how they got on with it. I love the idea of having a cast of Jakes hand and foot to keep but can't help thinking it won't turn out like the picture on the box shows because surely if Jake decides to move while I am doing it it will ruin the cast. If not I might just get a clay imprint set but the cast would show up the features a lot better. If any of you have got either of these where did you get them from and how much?

i havent bought one but iv tried making hand and foot prints in the cementy stuff and that was a job and a half and it ended up looking just like a round dint, ... not sure how well the casting kits work sorry hun

I have bought2 hun, i bought one for sophies 1st xmas and bought one for alastair's 1st xmas and they both came out great made lovely gifts

sophie27 so how do they work then? Does the baby not have to keep his hand or foot really still? Have you got one with paint and where did you get it?

i used the ones where i just needed to press their foot into some mould and wait for it to dry no bother at all really easy and great results hun

Charlie is getting one from his Grandparents for xmas, but its one that John Lewis do and you take the baby into the store and they do it all for you. It is quite expensive but my sister had it done last year for her little boy and its gorgeous.

 

We brought 3 sets from Mothercare - one for us and 2 sets for the grandparents (one for Paul's mum and one for my mum and dad) and they all turned out perfect. I think as long as you hold their hand or foot down firmly then they should turn out ok
